A body posture detection device comprises: a correction value calculation unit that sequentially calculates a correction value for estimating a roll angle of a vehicle body on the basis of a variable correction coefficient set according to a determination of a state determination unit and detection values of a speed sensor and a detection unit; and a roll angle estimation value calculation unit that calculates an estimation value of a current roll angle of the vehicle body by integrating a value obtained by correcting an estimation value of a roll angular velocity on the basis of the correction value. The correction value calculation unit sets the variable correction coefficient so as to reduce the correction value when the parameter exceeds a threshold.

Body posture detection device and straddle type vehicle

A saddled vehicle includes an air cleaner and a vehicle body movement sensor. The air cleaner takes travel wind in an air cleaner box to purify air of the travel wind and supplies the purified air to an internal combustion engine. The vehicle body movement sensor is received in a recess and measures movement of a vehicle body. The recess is defined by a flat surface that crosses a rear wall of the air cleaner box. This provides a saddled vehicle including a vehicle body movement sensor that is disposed without reducing the volume of an air cleaner box.

An engine start control device for vehicles is capable of preventing a shortage of electric power when an engine is restarted. A controller restarts an engine if an executing condition for a hill start assist control process is satisfied while the engine is being temporarily stopped according to an idling stop control process. Braking forces according to the hill start assist control process are kept by a brake oil pressure module that is energized when supplied with electric power. Restarting conditions include a plurality of ordinary restarting conditions and a particular restarting condition by way of the executing condition for the hill start assist control process. A second predetermined time after the particular restarting condition is satisfied until the ACG starter motor is energized is longer than a predetermined time after the ordinary restarting conditions are satisfied until the ACG starter motor is supplied with electric power.

The pressure sensor functions as a first detection portion for detecting hydraulic pressure set according to operation of a brake pedal. The control unit detects the hydraulic pressure acting on the second piston portion through the pipe. The control unit controls differential pressure in the detected hydraulic pressure to a target value set according to vehicle speed.

Brake control device for saddle riding vehicle

A front wheel caliper bracket for supporting an axle is provided in a lower end portion of a front fork. A wheel speed sensor is mounted on the bracket. The wheel speed sensor includes a fixing section and a sensor section, and is mounted on a sensor mounting section of the bracket by a bolt. The sensor mounting section is integrally formed with a rotation regulating portion in a projecting fashion. When fastened by the bolt, a lateral part of the rotating wheel speed sensor comes into contact with the rotation regulating portion to regulate the rotation of the wheel speed sensor, so that the stress from the rotation regulating portion is not exerted directly on the sensor section.

In a membrane electrode assembly, electrode catalyst layers are provided respectively on both surfaces of an electrolyte membrane. Each of the electrode catalyst layers includes polymer electrolyte and catalyst. In each of the electrode catalyst layers, the weight of a component of the polymer electrolyte contained in one surface facing the electrolyte membrane is twice as large as, or more than twice as large as the weight of the component of the polymer electrolyte contained in another surface.

A shift control system includes an engine speed detector, a multistage transmission, a gear position detector, a shifting operation detector, and an output controller. The engine speed detector is configured to detect an engine speed. The gear position detector is configured to detect a transmission gear. The shifting operation detector is configured to detect an operation of a shift operating element. The output controller is configured to restrict output of an engine in a case where an up-shifting operation is detected by the shifting operation detector. The output controller is configured to release output restriction of the engine before the gear position detector detects that switching to a next-stage transmission gear by the up-shifting operation of the shift operating element is completed.
