An apparatus for operating an injection machine wherein the molding condition during the building up interval is automatically changed in accordance with such parameters as the metal mold temperature, resin temperature and the temperature of a portion of the heating cylinder to which resin is supplied from a hopper. The apparatus is constructed to facilitate the building up of the molding condition, thus decreasing the number of useless shots.

The quality that is good or bad of an injection molded product is judged. The temperature T of a metal mold, of a resin in the mold cavity, barrel or nozzle of an injection molding machine is measured at a time t elapsed after comencement of a pressure holding step of the injection molding machine. The present P of resin in the mold cavity or barrel or nozzle is measured at the time t, and a time function A=f(t) is calculated using the temperature T and the pressure P, where A represents a calculating parameter T/P, P/T, T.times.P, T+P or T.+-.P. This is compared with a reference time function Ao=f(t) of a shot in which satisfactory products can be obtained, with a time function An=f(t) of another shot.

Method and apparatus of judging quality of injection molded products

In a method of controlling an injection compression molding of the type wherein resin is injected into a mold cavity while the metal molds are separated away a little, and thereafter the metal molds are clamped together, a pulsating mold clamping pressure is applied to the metal molds during compression. The apparatus for controlling injection compression molding comprises a mold clamping pressure setter for outputting a mold clamping signal, a pulse waveform setter for generating a pulse signal, a signal calculating unit connected to receive the mold clamping signal and the pulse signal for outputting a mold clamping control signal, a mold clamping device, and a valve responsive to the mold clamping control signal for controlling a pressurized operating fluid supplied to the mold clamping device.

Method and apparatus for controlling injection compression molding

In a vent type injection molding machine having a screw contained in a heating cylinder, there are provided a plurality axially spaced apart vent openings located at intermediate points of the heating cylinder for venting inside of the heating cylinder to the outside and control means for selectively opening and closing the vent openings in accordance with the position of the screw in the heating cylinder or the pressure of a thermoplastic resin injected by the injection molding machine.

A molten resin to be injected into a mold cavity in use of an injection molding machine has a temperature, i.e. viscosity difference between at the injection starting point and the injection completing point.
