A zoom lens system for use in a camera having a color filter and a CCD achieves a magnification ratio of about 2.9 or greater and a back focus of about 9.2 or greater. The zoom lens system includes in order from an object side of the lens system, a first lens group having a negative refracting power, a second lens group spaced from the first lens group and having a positive refracting power and a third lens group spaced from the second lens group and having a positive refracting power. One or both of the fifth and an eighth lens surface has an aspherical surface, the fifth and eighth lens surfaces being counted from the object side. The second lens group includes five lenses with an extra lens being located at a far end of the second lens group relative to the object side. Each of the first, second and third lens groups is movable from a first position when the lens system is in a wide position to a second position when the lens system is in a tele position.

Zoom lens system

A color image recognition apparatus capable of judging whether an original is monochromatic or color comprises an image reader for rapidly scanning the original to develop image data and a color display coordinate system for converting the image data to luminance data and color difference data. A pixel color judging unit judges the color of each pixel based upon the luminance data and the color difference data, and a block color judging unit compares the number of color pixels with the number of black pixels contained in each of the plurality of blocks of pixels. An original color judging unit then counts the number of color blocks in the original to judge the color of the original.

A digital indication type length measuring system includes a length measuring device having a spindle which can be brought into abutting contact with a work to be measured, an encoder for representing a displacement of the spindle as an electric signal, and an output circuit for outputting measured length information data obtained from the electric signal from the encoder to a cable. A data processing device includes an input circuit coupled to the cable for receiving data from the length measuring device, a processing circuit for processing data received by the input circuit in a predetermined manner to produce quality control data, and a printer for printing out the quality control data. The quality control data includes a histogram. When the length measuring and data processing devices are disconnected from each other, each measured length is displayed on a digital indicator which is provided on the length measuring device and which is repsonsive to the electric signal from the encoder.

Digital indication type length measuring system

An electronic measuring device capable of indicating a measured value in both analog and digital forms. In this device, the displacement of a spindle is converted into a number of pulses and counted by a counter, and the number of pulses thereby obtained is thereafter indicated by an indicator. On the other hand, a pulse motor disposed in a pointer rotating unit is driven by a driving circuit in accordance with a counted value supplied from the counter so as to rotate a pointer by an angle corresponding to the counted value.
