The film boiling state of a refrigerant is maintained for a time longer than in the prior art by t to lower the nuclear boiling start temperature to a temperature at which the material proof strength of a work exceeds thermal stress, thereby lowering the cooling rate of the work. In addition, by controlling the cooling rate in hardening, the film boiling state of the refrigerant is maintained to a temperature at which the material proof strength exceeds thermal stress, thereby cooling the work at a temperature equal to or higher than the critical cooling rate of the work.

Light-alloy casting heat treatment method

A vibration-damping composite sheet steel made by sandwiching a viscoelastic material between two steel sheets. A rust proofing coating which generates no gaseous matter is formed on one surface of each of the steel sheets which is contacted with the viscoelastic material. The coating is a phosphate coating having no water of crystallization with a coating weight per unit area of 0.5 g/m.sup.2 or over, or a galvanized zinc coating including no zinc oxide.

Vibration-damping composite sheet steel

An apex seal structure of two-piece construction including a main or sealing piece and an under or support piece which are disposed in a sealing groove in a rotor apex portion with a superposed relationship with each other. The main piece has a bottom surface which is in engagement with the top surface of the under piece, the bottom surface of the main piece being perpendicular to the side surfaces thereof, and the top surface of the under piece to the side surfaces thereof. In order to prevent inclination of the main piece in the sealing groove, the gap between the main piece and the sealing groove is decreased. For the purpose of avoiding any delay of induction of gas pressure behind the pieces, the width of the under piece is decreased with respect to that of the main piece so that an adequate gap is provided between the under piece and the sealing groove.

Lubricating oil supply device for a rotary piston engine including an oil port opened to a working chamber at the trochoidal inner wall of the rotor housing, a bore formed radially in the rotor housing to communicate with the oil port, a plug fitted to the bore close to an end adjacent to the oil port and having a nozzle opening opposed to the wall of the bore, an oil supply conduit extending axially in the bore and opening to the bore in the vicinity of the plug, and an air passage opening the bore to the atmosphere.

Lubricating oil supply means for rotary piston engines

A rotary piston engine having a supercharging blower located in the intake passage upstream of the throttle valve. A lubricating oil supply system includes oil passages opening through oil discharge nozzles to the intake passage downstream of the throttle valve and to the rotor housing. Air passages are provided and communicating at one ends with the oil passages and opening at the other end to the intake passage between the supercharging blower and the throttle valve.

Lubricating oil supply system for a supercharged rotary piston engine

A housing structure for a rotary piston internal combustion engine comprises at least one peripheral casing having an epitrochoidal surface formed therein, and a pair of end walls connected to each other with the peripheral casing situated therebetween. Portions of the end walls and peripheral casing which are simultaneously exposed to one of the working chambers in which the expansion stroke is taking place, that is, the expansion chamber, has therein respective heat insulating layers so as to substantially avoid a possible reduction of the temperature of the exhaust gas staying within the expansion chamber.
