In IP telephony systems, it has become impossible to detect the location of installation of a telephone terminal from the telephone number, since an IP telephone terminal can be installed in an arbitrary location. Also, even if one observes the calling party number presentation at the time of an incoming call, it has become impossible to grasp from where the calling party is placing the outgoing call. It is possible that, within an IP telephony system, a terminal location detection means is configured and the installation location of a telephone terminal is detected simultaneously with the registration of the telephone terminal. In addition, the problem can be solved by configuring, in an IP telephony server, a device of reporting location information about the correspondent to the telephone terminal and by configuring, in the telephone terminal, a device of displaying the received positional information.

Telephony system

A terminal including: a remote control section for transmitting and receiving data with respect to a main device which performs call control processing with a target device via a telephony server in place of the terminal; and a call communication section for performing audio communication with the target device, wherein the remote control section transmits a command including a calling request for the target device and an IP address of the terminal to the main device, and receives an IP address of the target device from the main device, and the call control section performs audio communication with the target device using the IP address of the terminal and the IP address of the target device.

One or more LAN switches capable of accessing the contents of a MAC address table, which the LAN switch contains, from the outside; and a presence server storing in a storage device a first correspondence table between a MAC address of a network interface, which equipment contains, and its user, and a second correspondence table between a port of the above-described LAN switch, and a physical range wired therefrom, are used to thereby obtain a correspondence table between the equipment, its user, and its physical location (range), whereby making applicable also to a wired LAN at the time of determining the location of the equipment or the location of a user using the equipment in a building, and making realizable at low cost, and allowing the location to be determined accurately within a predetermined segmented area, and not being affected even if an IP address is changed.

Network system and server

Provided is a computer system capable of identifying a seat position of a user even in a network to which an individually-assigned device and a device used by a plurality of users are connected coexistently. The computer system for identifying a seat position of a user, includes: a device used by the user; a network device to which the device is connected, for coupling the device to a network; and a management computer coupled to the network. In the computer system, the management computer judges which of an individually-assigned device and a shared-use device the device connected to the network device is, obtains a unique identifier of the user and information indicating a connection relationship between the network device and the device connected to the network device from the network device, and identifies the seat position of the user based on the unique identifier of the user and the information indicating the connection relationship.

In a thin client system which provides a high-quality picture reproduction method and which makes it possible to use a thin client terminal as a TeleVision (TV) phone terminal and a TV conference terminal, a video reproducing module is disposed in a thin client server device and a graphics module is disposed in a thin client terminal. The thin client server device sets a transmission color to a video display area of screen data and sends the screen data via a remote control communication path and simultaneously sends video data via a second route. The thin client terminal receives the screen data and the video data and displays the screen and video data as an overlay image in one same screen using the screen overlay scheme.

Thin client system

A wireless IP telephone system including a dynamic address lease server for leasing an IP address to each of terminals and a controller. The controller has information about the IP address, a SIP URI of the terminal, a type thereof, and a function thereof. The information of the controller is dynamically set by a system administrator who manually sets the information or by the dynamic address lease server and the controller which are cooperated. The controller decides an effective period of the address to be leased to each terminal, informs the dynamic address lease server of the fact, and requires the address lease server to release the address which became unnecessary.

Wireless IP telephone system

To provide a thin client (TC) system at least capable of using a thin client terminal as a telephone terminal in a thin client system. In a personal TC (PTC) system consisting of a PTC server with a server side telephone control section consisting of a call control section, and a PTC terminal with a terminal side telephone control section consisting of a device control section and a voice packet communication section, and a handset connected to the PTC terminal, this is achieved by notifying an IP address of the PTC terminal as an communication target IP address to be notified upon call connection, and notifying the PTC terminal an IP address of a telephone terminal.

An IP phone terminal registration method capable of reducing the workload as to telephone terminal setup and excluding working mistakes by achieving automated phone terminal registration is provided. Upon connection of a telephone terminal to IP network, a DHCP device issues a terminal registration request to a main apparatus. The main apparatus performs automated phone number allocation to thereby perform terminal registration processing. The DHCP device sends back to the telephone terminal an item of network information that contains therein IP address of the main apparatus and the phone number thus allocated. The phone terminal sets up the IP address of main apparatus and the phone number as self-terminal information, thereby automating the phone terminal registration.
