A cross shaft joint includes a bearing cup, a cross shaft, and a joint yoke. The bearing cup includes a cylindrical portion in which an opening portion for receiving a shaft portion is formed in one end of the cylindrical portion in an axis direction, and a bottom portion that closes the other end of the cylindrical portion in the axis direction. The bearing cup is press-fitted into the fitting hole and supports the shaft portion through a rolling element so that the shaft portion is able to rotate. The bearing cup is fitted onto the shaft portion inside the fitting hole and holds the rolling element with the shaft portion. A diameter of an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion is smaller on the opening portion side than the bottom portion side in a free state of the bearing cup before being press-fitted into the fitting hole.

An optical deflection device includes a rotor unit having a rotary polygon mirror and a magnet, a dynamic pressure bearing having a rotary bearing member rotatably supporting the rotor unit and a stationary bearing member, and a stator unit having a base member for supporting the stationary bearing member and a magnet coil for driving the rotary unit in cooperation with the magnet. The optical deflection device further includes a stabilizing member for rectifying and stabilizing airflow caused by the rotation of the rotary polygon mirror, which is mounted on the top of the base member in such a way that the stabilizing member is located close to the mirror surface on the outer periphery of the rotary polygon mirror.

An optical deflection apparatus includes: a base member; a coil fixed to the base member; and a rotor unit rotatable to the base member, having a bearing member, a rotating body provided on the bearing member, having reflection surfaces, and a magnet provided on the rotating body in a position facing the coil. An optical deflection device includes: a fixed supporting member; a coil supporting member fixed on the fixed supporting member; a coil fixed on the coil supporting member; a rotary body having a rotary polygon mirror, a magnet facing and apart from the coil and a rotary supporting member for supporting the rotary polygon mirror and the magnet; a bearing unit supported on the fixed supporting member for rotatably supporting the rotary body; and a buffer member interposed between the fixed supporting member and the coil supporting member.

In an image forming apparatus in which an exposure is conducted by scanning of a laser beam, the apparatus includes a photoreceptor for forming a latent image thereon; an exposure device having a rotary polygonal mirror for exposing the photoreceptor, wherein the laser beam is deflected and scanned onto the photoreceptor by rotating the rotary polygonal mirror; a controller for controlling a linear speed of the photoreceptor; and a braking device for decreasing forcibly a speed of rotation of the polygonal mirror. When the controller decreases the linear speed of the photoreceptor according to an image formation mode, the braking device decreases the speed of rotation of the polygonal mirror.

There is described a light beam deflection apparatus in which the distortion of the polygon mirror is reduced, and the mounting accuracy of the polygon mirror is improved. The light beam deflection apparatus includes a base plate, a coil being stationary relative to the base plate and a mirror unit being rotatable with respect to the base plate. The mirror unit includes a polygon mirror, a rotating disk to mount the polygon mirror, a rotating yoke fixed to the rotating disk, a magnet attached to the rotating yoke and located opposite the coil and a buffer member inserted into a gap between the polygon mirror and the rotating yoke.

The invention provides a liquid crystal display device which includes a transparent substrate; transparent pixel electrodes arranged in the form of a matrix on the transparent substrate; active elements for switching the pixel electrodes, the active element provided to each of said pixel electrodes and having a laminated structure; and bus line provided among the pixel electrodes. The bus line includes a transparent conductive layer provided on the transparent substrate; a first wiring layer superimposed on the transparent conductive layer; and a second wiring layer superimposed on the first wiring layer. The second wiring layer has a branch portion which is extended from a position on the first wiring layer onto the transparent substrate, and the branch portion used as an electrode on the transparent substrate side in the laminated structure of the active element.

Liquid crystal display device having layered bus line structure

A charge eliminating device for use with a photoreceptor drum. The device eliminates a charge on a required portion of the surface of a photoreceptor drum so that an electrostatic latent image is eliminated on the required portion. The device includes a circuit board for holding an electrical circuit on its surface, the circuit board having a line-shaped edge disposed to face the surface of the photoreceptor drum. A plurality of light emitting elements are disposed on the circuit board to emit light in parallel to the surface of the circuit board in the direction of the line-shaped edge of the circuit board. The device further includes a housing having a plurality of compartments each of which encloses one of the plurality of light emitting elements on the circuit board and has an opening at the line-shaped edge for passing the emitted light in parallel to the surface of the circuit board to the surface of the photoreceptor.
