In an airbag inflatable inside a seating portion of a vehicle's seat, the design flexibility, in terms of shape and height, of the airbag in an inflated state is increased. An airbag device () includes an airbag () and an inflator (). The airbag () is disposed inside a seating portion of a seat and is inflated under a seated occupant. The inflator () generates gas to inflate and deploy the airbag (). The airbag () includes an upper base fabric piece (), a lower base fabric piece (), and a pair of side base fabric pieces (), which are joined to one another and form an air chamber () therein. The pair of side base fabric pieces () are disposed at part of side portions between the upper base fabric piece () and the lower base fabric piece () and define the shape of the air chamber () in an inflated state.

Airbag device

An extruded styrene resin foam which is produced by using a blowing agent imposing a reduced load on the environment and has outstandingly excellent thermal insulating property and flame retardant property adapted for construction use. The foam is obtained by extrusion-foaming of a styrene resin and characterized by containing at least, one or more of saturated hydrocarbons having 3 to 5 carbon atoms as a blowing agent, and containing (A) a halogenated flame retardant, and (B) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of phosphorus type flame retardants containing nitrogen atom in a molecule; tetrazole compounds; specific nitrogen-containing compounds; metal borates; boron oxides; phosphoric acid ester compounds, and having a cell structure constituting the foam wherein a cell anisotropic ratio k, which is defined by the formula: k=a/(a&#xd7;b&#xd7;c)wherein, in sections of the foam, a (mm) is an average cell size in the thickness direction, b (mm) is an average cell size in the transverse direction and c (mm) is an average cell size in the longitudinal direction, satisfies the relationship: k&#x2266;1.1, and a satisfies the relationship: 0.05&#x2266;a&#x2266;0.30, and the method for producing the same.

Extruded styrene resin foam and process for producing the same

An extrusion foaming method for obtaining a styrene resin foam by introducing a blowing agent into the resin under pressure by which a foam having excellent heat insulating property and compressive strength can be produced with excellent stability using a blowing agent which is as environmentally safe as possible, characterized in that a foam is obtained by using a blowing agent comprising mainly less than 40% by weight and 5% by weight or more of an ether, and more than 60% by weight and not more than 95% by weight of a saturated hydrocarbon having 3 to 5 carbon atoms, based on the entire amount of the blowing agent, or as required, by using a blowing agent wherein a part of the saturated hydrocarbon in the foregoing blowing agent is replaced by a fluorinated hydrocarbon with concern for the environment, and preferably in that the ratio Z/X of cells constituting the foam wherein X is the average cell size in the direction of extrusion and Z is the average cell size in the direction of thickness is adjusted to 1 or less, preferably 0.8 or less by stretching the foam with heating after the extrusion.
