An illumination system includes: an irradiation device that irradiates light to a subject located in front of a displayer that displays a background image; an information acquisition device that acquires subject information for identifying the subject; a storage that stores background image information on the background image displayed on the displayer; and a controller that controls irradiation by the irradiation device. The controller generates shape information of the subject on basis of a difference between the subject information acquired by the information acquisition device and the background image information stored in the storage, and sets an irradiation range where light is irradiated by the irradiation device on basis of the shape information.

Illumination system and photography system

A connection system forms an electric path through which power transmission is performed between an electric vehicle and a power conditioner system. The electric vehicle includes a relay circuit that opens the electric path if a voltage equal to or above a predetermined value is applied between voltage output terminals. The connection system includes a fuse that blows in response to a current input thereto equal to or above a predetermined value and a resistor connected in parallel with the fuse.

A ground fault detection apparatus is an apparatus detecting a ground fault in an ungrounded AC circuit in which a single-phase three-wire AC power source is connected to a load via a U phase wire, a neutral wire, and a V phase wire, including two resistive elements having an identical resistance value, one terminals of the two resistive elements being connected to the U phase wire and the neutral wire, respectively, the other terminals thereof being connected to each other. The ground fault detection apparatus further includes a current detector detecting a value of a current flowing between the other terminals of the two resistive elements (i.e., a node N) and a ground point. In a case where the absolute value of the current exceeds a threshold value, the ground fault detection apparatus determines that a ground fault occurs.

An organic EL display panel includes a substrate; an interlayer insulating layer on the substrate; first electrodes on the interlayer insulating layer to correspond to element formation regions in rows and columns; banks extending in columns to partition the regions in rows; organic light-emitting layers above the first electrodes, and each containing organic light-emitting material having light-emitting color differing between each two adjacent regions in rows; and second electrodes above the light-emitting layers, and being opposite in polarity to the first electrodes, wherein the interlayer insulating layer has first opening corresponding to interval between each two adjacent first electrodes in rows, the banks each have integrally formed buried part and main part, the buried part fills the interval and the first opening, and the main part is protrusion of the buried part and has recess on top thereof along with shapes of the interval and the first opening.

This composite semiconductor device has a normally-on first field effect transistor and a normally-off second field effect transistor connected in series between first and second terminals, gates of the first and second field effect transistors being connected to second and third terminals, respectively, and N diodes being connected in series in a forward direction between a drain and a source of the second field effect transistor. Therefore, a drain-source voltage (Vds) of the second field effect transistor can be restricted to a voltage not higher than a withstand voltage of the second field effect transistor.

A switching circuit for preventing malfunction of a switching device formed of a wide band-gap semiconductor used for switching a high-power main power supply includes a normally-off type FET having a gate electrode, a source electrode connected to the ground, and a drain electrode connected to a power supply potential Vdd, and a normally-on type FET having drain and source electrodes connected to the gate and source electrodes of the FET, respectively, and a gate electrode. In the absence of any power supply, the normally-on type FET turns on. As a result, the gate/source potential of FET attains to 0V, and FET is kept off.

Switching circuit having low threshold voltage

In a voltage clamp circuit, a normally-on type field-effect transistor having a negative threshold voltage has a drain connected to an input node, a source connected to an output node and grounded via a resistance element, and a gate supplied with an output voltage of a variable direct-current power supply. When a voltage at the output node becomes higher than a clamping voltage because of voltage drop of the resistance element, the field-effect transistor is tuned off. Accordingly, the output voltage is limited to be at most the clamping voltage. Thus, a response speed is higher than those of conventional voltage clamp circuits using diodes or the like.

A variable gain amplifier is provided that can obtain a wide range of gain variation and suppress the deterioration of linearity when switching between amplifying transistors. The variable gain amplifier includes a plurality of cascode amplifiers each including an amplifying transistor and a plurality of cascode transistors connected in a cascode arrangement to an output terminal of the amplifying transistor. The plurality of cascode amplifiers are connected through attenuators. The variable gain amplifier further includes a first controller that controls ON/OFF operations of the plurality of cascode transistors included in each cascode amplifier; and a second controller that controls ON/OFF operations of a plurality of amplifying transistors, only one of which is included in each of the plurality of cascode amplifiers, such that only selected one of the plurality of amplifying transistors is turned on.
