An inkjet apparatus includes a switching part for switching the direction of movement of a base material, and a mist suction part for suctioning air containing ink mist. The switching part bends the base material in a direction opposite to a recording surface of the base material in a position downstream in the direction of movement as viewed from jet heads to switch the direction of movement from a first direction to a second direction. Thus, a viscous flow near the surface of the base material and the ink mist contained in the viscous flow are separated from the surface of the base material by the use of inertial force. The mist suction part includes a suction opening at least part of which is positioned on the extension of the first direction. This allows the mist suction part to efficiently suction the ink mist separated from the surface of the base material.

Inkjet apparatus and method of collecting mist

Inkjet printing apparatus

A CTP system is provided, which allows its continuous use even if some of laser diodes located at dispersed sites are in a non-light emitting state due to breakage or the like. In the case where some channels are in the non-light emitting state, channel-by-channel exposure data is generated to describe the way that exposure should be performed by use of specific light-emitting channels that are determined by the locations of non-light emitting channels, while an exposure head is moved also through (a) complementary interval(s) before and/or after a standard interval, the standard interval being the interval the exposure head is moved through in normal mode. Then, the transport unit moves the exposure head through the standard interval and through the complementary interval(s), during which period the exposure controller causes the specific light-emitting channels to emit exposure light according to the channel-by-channel exposure data, thereby forming an exposed area.

Exposure system with a plurality of laser sources located at dispersed sites

A gas is generated from a printing plate by exposure of the printing plate. A gas diffusing suction unit jets air from air jet ports to diffuse the gas generated from the printing plate by irradiation of laser light. The gas diffused by the air is sucked along with the air from a gas suction opening of the gas diffusing suction unit. At this time, a gas suction velocity is set to 1.2 or more times an air jet velocity to suck the gas/air efficiently. The gas/air may be sucked efficiently by setting a volume of suction to 30 or more times a volume of air jet.

An aperture plate is disposed between a reduction optical system (imaging optical system) and a light source unit in which a plurality of light source parts each emitting a light beam are arranged in a predetermined arrangement pattern. In the aperture plate, a plurality of apertures are arranged in the same pattern as the arrangement pattern of the light source parts. Light beams from the light source parts are directed toward the reduction optical system through the apertures which face the respective light source parts so that reduction images of the apertures are formed on a photosensitive material. Even if the light source parts are located a little displaced from a predetermined arrangement pattern, images of the apertures will be focused on a photosensitive material. This enables easy adjustment of the locations of the light source parts and recording of a high quality image.

Apparatus for recording an image by irradating a plurality of light

Disclosed herein is a light source unit for emitting multiple beams, which can be reduced in size. The light source unit (10) is formed by a base block (5) and ten stays (3). Ten locating pins (6) are provided on each side of the base block (5) at a second space (d) in a direction Y' and a third space (l) in a direction X'. Eight holes (7) are provided in each stay (3) at a first space (D), while holes (8) for locating pins (6) are provided on both ends thereof. A semiconductor laser is arranged in each hole (7). Each of the locating pins (6) is inserted into one individual one of the pin holes (8) and the ten stays (3) are then fixed to the base block (5) by through bolts (17). Thus, eight times ten semiconductor lasers are arranged on a two-dimensional plane of X'-Y' coordinates.
