A speaker driving device includes a first calculation unit, a first driving signal generation unit and a third calculation unit. The first calculation unit outputs a first calculation signal obtained from a first input signal based on response characteristics according to a first parameter defining an equivalent circuit of a first speaker unit. The first driving signal generation unit generates a first driving signal based on a second driving signal and the first calculation signal. The first driving signal drives a first output speaker unit. The third calculation unit generates a third calculation signal from a second input signal based on response characteristics according to a third parameter defining an equivalent circuit of a third speaker unit. The second driving signal generation unit generates the second driving signal based on the first driving signal and the third calculation signal. The second driving signal drive a second output speaker unit.

A speaker driving device including a setting part setting at least one parameter defining an equivalent circuit of a first speaker unit as a first parameter; a first calculator configured to change a first frequency response based on the first parameter, the changed first frequency response being applied to an input signal; and a driving signal generator configured to generate a drive signal for driving a speaker unit based on a first calculation signal, the first calculation signal being obtained by applying the changed first frequency response to the input signal.

Frequency analysis is performed on an image signal on a pixel by pixel basis or on a block by block basis, each block including a plurality of pixels, for each frame of the image signal. Then, a motion level or blur level is calculated on a pixel by pixel basis or on a block by block basis in accordance with a result of the frequency analysis. After the calculated motion level or blur level is converted into a binary value, 2-dimensional continuous regions are detected and a large region is extracted from the detected regions. It is then determined whether the large region is a blocker part based on at least one of an area ratio, a shape, and a position of the large region.

A band-division signal processing system includes a coding unit and a decoding unit. The coding unit includes: an extracting unit for extracting a part of an original signal to produce a partial band signal; a first quantizer for quantizing the partial band signal to produce a quantized partial band signal; a subtracter for subtracting the quantized partial band signal from the original signal to produce a differential signal; and a first output unit for outputting the partial band signal and the differential signal. The decoding unit includes: a second quantizer having an identical configuration to the first quantizer and for quantizing the partial band signal outputted from the first output unit to produce the quantized partial band signal; an adder for adding the quantized partial band signal produced by the second quantizer to the differential signal outputted from the first output unit to produce the original signal; and a second output unit for outputting the original signal produced by the adder.

Band-division signal processing system

An over-sampling device is provided for double over-sampling the input signal and for outputting as a sampling signal. The sampling signal is filtered at one of conversion rates of 147/160, 160/147, and 1/1 by using a prototype filter, based on the first sampling frequency and the second sampling frequency, and a filtering signal is produced. The filtering signal is filtered by a low pass filter having a predetermined cutoff frequency band, and a low frequency signal is produced. A down-sampling device is provided for down-sampling the low frequency signal by one half.

The recording system separates a brightness signal and a color signal from an interlaced scanning signal. The recording system divides picture elements of each line into two phases by sorting the elements such that an element is put into one phase and the next element into the other. The recording system then carries out two-dimensional subsampling to the brightness signal and the color signal to reduce the amount of data. Then, the recording system compresses and time-division multiplexes the brightness signal and the color signal to provide a video signal to be recorded onto a record medium. The reproducing system separates the brightness signal and the color signal from a video signal read out from the record medium, and then interpolates picture elements into the two signals to obtain sequential scanning RGB signals for 525 scanning lines.

Video signal recording/reproducing system for recording and reproducing

An HDTV signal (dot density: 2N dots/line) is converted into a luminance signal and a line sequential color signal, and the resulting signals are both subjected to vertical interpolation and vertical filtering to derive a sequential scanning luminance signal and a sequential scanning color signal. The resulting sequential scanning luminance signal and sequential scanning color signal are subjected to frame thinning to reduce the frequency thereof to a half. Then, subsampling is performed to reduce the dot density to N dots/line. Next, dot rearranging for distributing adjacent dots to adjacent lines is performed to double the number of frames, whereby the dot density of each frame is reduced to N/2 dots/line. These consequently derived frames are encoded for recording. In this manner, the frequency bandwidth required to a recording medium for recording HDTV signals can be reduced.

An apparatus for controlling acoustical transfer characteristics having an input section for inputting data on acoustical transfer decision factors determining the acoustical transfer characteristics of an audio reproduction output signal, an arithmetic section for calculating a value of control of the acoustic transfer characteristics of the audio reproduction output signal by fuzzy inference based on the decision factors, and an operational section for changing the acoustical transfer characteristics. The factors for compensating for auditory sensation characteristics vary depending upon the sound volume level. Acoustic transfer characteristics suitable for the auditory sensitivity characteristics of the listener with changes in the sound volume can be obtained by a simple operation.
