An image processing device includes an image acquiring unit, a detection unit, and a display processing unit. The image acquiring unit is configured to acquire a captured image from an image capturing device configured to capture an image of the periphery of a vehicle. The detection unit is configured to detect a lane marker defining a traveling track of the vehicle from the captured image acquired by the image acquiring unit. The display processing unit is configured to display, on a display device, a superimposition image as the captured image on which a marker image for supporting visibility of the lane marker is superimposed such that the marker image is superimposed on the lane marker detected by the detection unit.

An alternator for generating electric power is mounted on an automotive vehicle. The alternator includes a housing, a stator fixed in the housing, a rotor driven by an engine of the automotive vehicle, and electric components such as a brush holder. The brush holder is mounted on a rear surface of a rear frame constituting the housing and is covered with a rear cover fixed to the rear frame. The rear cover includes a surrounding wall covering the brush device to prevent water from reaching a brush area. The surrounding wall is composed of plural partial walls having respective radiuses from a rotational axis of the rotor. The surrounding wall may be continuously made by the partial walls. Alternatively, openings for draining water may be formed in the partial walls positioned downward of the rotational axis of the rotor.

A rotor for a vehicular alternating current generator has a relief space portion formed between axial holes of a pair of pole cores and a shaft for receiving therein a plastically deformed portion produced when the shaft is press-fitted in the axial holes of the pole cores. The relief space portion is located adjacent to a pair of closely contacting inner end faces of the pole cores so that the plastically deformed portion is let to move into a radially outward direction rather than further continuing movement in an axial direction within the relief space portion. The plastically deformed portion is thus prevented from entering between the inner end faces of the pole cores.

An alternator (AC generator) to be mounted on a vehicle comprises slip rings, brushes, a brush holder, a rear cover, and sealing members. The slip rings are fixed on a rotary shaft and rotatable together with the rotary shaft. The brushes are slidable on the slip rings and the brush holder accommodates the brushes therein. The slip-ring cover covers the slip rings as well as the brush holder and the rear cover covers electronic components including the brushes. The sealing members give a sealing performance to an inner space containing slid portions of the brushes on the slip rings. The rear cover, the brush holder, and the sealing member have a ventilating passage for positively causing an flow of air from the inner space containing the slid portions of the brushes on the slip rings to an outside of the alternator.

An automotive alternator according to the present invention includes a rotary shaft, slip rings, a brush holder, brushes, a cover, a seal member, a cooling air flow path, and a water shield. The slip rings are fixed to an end portion of the rotary shaft. The brushes are accommodated in the brush holder and so held by the brush holder as to establish sliding contacts with the slip rings to excite the automotive alternator. The cover covers the end portion of the rotary shaft, the slip rings, the brush holder, and the brushes. The seal member is interposed between the brush holder and the cover. The cooling air flow path is formed between the seal member and one of the brush holder and the cover to supply cooling air to the brushes. The water shield works to prevent water from entering into an entrance of the cooling air flow path.

An alternator has a rotor having magnetic poles along a circumferential direction and a cooling fan fixed to an end surface of the rotor in an axial direction. The fan has wing portions disposed along the circumferential direction. One wing portion has a fan base extending on or over first and second magnetic poles, first and second fixing members, respectively, fixing first and second fixing portions of the base to the first and second poles, and a fan blade extending from the fan base toward the axial direction. The base or blade has a boundary portion at which a boundary line between the blade and base crosses over a side line of the second pole, and a first distance between the first fixing portion and the boundary portion is substantially equal to a second distance between the second fixing portion and the boundary portion.

In a vehicular alternator, a stator is arranged to oppose a rotor in a housing. The stator includes a stator core, which forms a plurality of slots extending in an axial direction of the stator core, and a stator winding wound around the stator core. The stator winding includes electric conductors held in the slots. Each of the electric conductors has a circumferential width that is smaller than a circumferential distance between a first wall and a second wall defining the slot. The first wall and the second wall oppose each other in a circumferential direction. The electric conductors are alternately in contact with one of the first wall and the second wall.

An alternator for use in an automobile includes a stator supported between a front housing and a rear housing, and a rotor connected to a rotor shaft and rotatably supported inside the stator. A cooling fan is positioned at an end of a pole core of the rotor. The cooling fan is coupled to the rotor shaft by engaging edges of a center opening of the cooling fan with a non-circular flange formed on the rotor shaft. The cooling fan is correctly positioned relative to the rotor shaft, without using a jig, both in the radial direction and in the rotational direction of cooling fan. Noises and vibrations due to rotational imbalance of the cooling fan are suppressed.

In a rotary electric machine stator, a stator coil is formed of plural U-shaped conductor segments. Each of the conductor segments has a U-shaped turn portion disposed at one end of a stator core to form one of said coil ends, a pair of in-slot portion extending from the turn portion and inserted into slots and end portions extending from the in-slot portions to form the other coil end. One of the end portions of one of the U-shaped conductor segments extends straight in an axial direction, and the other bends in a circumferential direction by a predetermined angle to provide a wide cooling surface.

Rotary electric machine stator and method of manufacturing the same

A vehicular alternator includes a stator, a rotor, and a housing. The stator has a stator core with a plurality of slots, and a stator coil passing through the slots. The stator coil is constructed of a plurality of electric conductors. Each electric conductor has insert portions located in the slot and a connecting portion connecting the insert portions axially outside of the stator core. The connecting portion has a first curve portion and a second curve portion. The first curve portion is located adjacent to an outer diameter of the stator core and the second curve portion is located adjacent to an inner diameter of the stator core. The first curve portion has curvature larger than that of the second curve portion.

Rotary electric machine and manufacturing method thereof

In a stator of a vehicle rotary electric machine, a stator winding includes U-shaped conductor segments having a pair of straight portions disposed in a pair of slots spaced apart at a fixed pitch in layers. Each U-shaped conductor segment has a generally rectangular cross section and a width to fit the slot. The U-shaped conductor segments are formed of large size U-shaped conductor segments and small size U-shaped conductor segments, and each of the large size U-shaped conductor segments has a pair of straight portions disposed at radially opposite ends of the layers and have corners whose radius is larger than corners of the small size U-shaped conductor segments. Therefore, it is easy to form rounded corners at portions of the stator winding thereby to provide uniform insulation coating at surfaces of the stator winding exposed to foreign particles.
