A novel and very efficient method is disclosed for the introduction of perfluoroalkyl groups into an organopolysiloxane by utilizing the hydrosilation reaction with an organohydrogenpolysiloxane. Different from the conventional but inefficient hydrosilation reaction using a perfluoroalkyl-substituted ethylene as the olefin compound, the inventive method utilizes a propene-1 3-substituted by a perfluoroalkyl group compound as the olefin compound to react with an organohydrogenpolysiloxane by which a very high efficiency in the hydrosilation reaction can be obtained without side reactions which otherwise greatly decrease the yield of the desired perfluoroalkyl-containing organopolysiloxane product.

Method for the preparation of a fluorine-containing organopolysiloxane

A chain organopolysiloxane is obtained by polymerizing a fluorine-containing cyclotrisiloxane of the general formula: ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and Rf is a perfluoroalkyl group or perfluoroalkyl ether group) in the presence of a lithium silanolate catalyst, silylating the resulting polymerization product, and treating the silylated product at a temperature of not lower than 100.degree. C. under a reduced pressure of not higher than 10.sup.-1 mmHg to remove volatile components therefrom. The organopolysiloxane is essentially free of volatile low-molecular siloxanes. Therefore, the chain organopolysiloxane can be used without the problems which might arise from the volatile low-molecular siloxanes, such as evaporation of low-molecular siloxanes from a cured rubber product with the result of electrical-contact troubles.

An addition-curable type rubber composition comprising a vinyl-containing organopolysiloxane as a base polymer and, particularly, further comprising as a crosslinking agent an organohydrogenpolysiloxane which contains, in its molecule, at least one unit having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein J is an alkylene group of from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, Rf is a perfluoropolyether group, and a is an integer of from 0 to 2. The composition has excellent durability in repeated mold release, and a mold prepared from the composition is able to produce moldings of constant quality even when molding is repeated a large number of times.

Disclosed is an organosiloxane polymer-based composition curable by the mechanism of the hydrosilation reaction between silicon-bonded vinyl groups in a vinylsilyl-terminated perfluoropolyalkylene or perfluoropolyalkylene polyether compound and silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in a hydrosilyl-terminated perfluoropolyalkylene or perfluoropolyalkylene polyether compound as promoted by a catalyst. Different from conventional platinum compounds as the catalyst for the hydrosilation reaction, the catalyst in the inventive composition is a complex compound of rhodium such as tris(triphenylphosphine) rhodium chloride, rhodium acetate dimer and rhodium acetylacetonate so that the composition is imparted with greatly improved storage stability without viscosity increase over months at room temperature but without affectibg the curability at an elevated temperature.

A fluorine-containing silicone rubber composition comprising (A) a fluorocarbonsiloxane having the following general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein a to d is a positive integer, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are a monovalent hydrocarbon group free of aliphatic unsaturated groups, R.sup.3 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group containing an aliphatic unsaturated bond, Rf.sup.1 is a fluorine-containing alkylene polyether group, and (B) an organic peroxide. An improvement is proposed in a frame-supported pellicle consisting of a frame member and a thin transparent polymer membrane adhesively bonded to the frame member used for dustproof covering of a photomask in a photolithograpic patterning work of electronic devices. The improvement comprises using a specific fluorocarbon group-containing organosiloxane-based polymeric composition as an adhesive for adhesively bonding the frame member and the polymer membrane. This adhesive is effective even when the polymeric membrane is formed from a fluorocarbon polymer which is hardly susceptible to adhesive bonding with conventional adhesives. In addition, the adhesive bonding by use of this specific adhesive is highly durable even under irradiation with ultraviolet light.

The present fluorosilicone composition is an addition reaction curable composition that uses, as an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane, a fluorine-containing organopolysiloxane represented by the following general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R represents a vinyl group, R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group or a phenyl group, R.sup.2 represents a group represented by the following formula (2): ##STR2## in which p is an integer of 2 to 8 and q is an integer of 1 to 10, and n and m are each a positive integer. This composition can form a gellike cured product particularly excellent in acid resistance.
