A ventilation control device for a high-speed train carriage is operable in conjunction with a ventilating blower. A deflectable spring flap is mounted to extend across the ventilation duct in the air flow path. When deflection of the flap reaches a threshold level corresponding to possible passenger discomfort, the flap operates a limit switch positioned behind it. This activates a driving solenoid to close a shutter which shuts off the flow through the duct. A timer holds the shutter closed for a predetermined period, after which it is re-opened. Use of a microprocessor-controlled continuous sensor and damper can thereby be avoided, while cutting out very large pressure fluctuations.

Methods and apparatus for ventilating carriages

Ventilating equipment for railway rolling stock including a low-pressure supply air blower, a high-pressure supply air blower, a low-pressure exhaust air blower, and a high-pressure exhaust air blower. This ventilating equipment ventilates car interior during travel of a train outside of tunnels by the low-pressure supply air blower and the low-pressure exhaust air blower, and also ventilates the car interior during travel in tunnels by the high-pressure supply air blower and the high-pressure exhaust air blower. The high-pressure supply air blower and the high-pressure exhaust air blower produce a higher discharge pressure than a changing external pressure during a high-speed travel in tunnels, thereby preventing the propagation of an influence of the changing external pressure into the car interior. Furthermore, the ventilating equipment is capable of preventing an increase in power consumption of the entire ventilating equipment by interlocking, or changing over, between the high-pressure supply air blower and the high-pressure exhaust air blower and the low-pressure supply air blower and the low-pressure exhaust air blower, and is also capable of continuous ventilation of the car interior during travel in tunnels.

Ventilating equipment for railway rolling stock and operating method

A wheelset steering apparatus and method for the truck of railway vehicles, wherein an axle box rotatably provided on the opposite ends of the wheelset is elastically supported in the longitudinal direction as well as in the lateral direction of the truck with respect to a truck frame. Vertical loadings on the truck frame are carried by the axle box. A spring constant in the longitudinal direction of the truck in a state of being elastically supported with respect to the truck frame of the axle box is varied when the vehicle runs. The self-steering property of the wheelset is enhanced, and stability in running on a straight track is secured.

Wheelset steering apparatus and method for the truck of railway vehicles

A vibration control apparatus for vehicles to be installed on the vehicle wherein a vehicle body is supported on a truck through springs and damping mechanisms, for suppressing the vibrations of the vehicle body and enhancing the riding quality of the vehicle, comprising a vibration detector which detects the vibration of the vehicle body, a compensator circuit which compensates the detection output of the vibration detector and produces a control output for suppressing the vibration of the vehicle body, a fluid operating mechanism which controls the relative displacement between the vehicle body and the truck and which is connected to the vehicle body on one side and to the truck on the other side, a fluid control device which controls the fluid operating mechanism by the use of the control output produced by the compensator circuit, and damping control means to suppress the damping function of the damping mechanism upon sensing the state under which the vibration of the vehicle body is suppressed by the fluid operating mechanism.

Vibration control apparatus for vehicles

A girder for supporting a movable body has a truss structure of a cross-sectional shape forming an isosceles triangle with a horizontal base. The truss structure is formed of three main tubes of a circular cross section that are located in positions corresponding to respective corners of the triangle and extend continuously over the length of the girder. A plurality of branch tubes of circular cross section are fixed at their ends to respective pairs of the main tubes by joint pieces, such that three branch tubes lie in a plane extending through the respective joint pieces perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the main tubes so as to form the isosceles triangle. A rail support is secured to each main tube of the base of the isosceles triangle at a position disposed upwardly and outwardly of the center thereof, and a rail, along which the movable body is traversable, is supported on each rail support.

Truss-type girder for supporting a movable body

The present invention relates to a laminated heat exchanger having a laminated construction consisting of a plurality of perforated heat transfer plates and spacers arranged alternatingly, the spacers defining a plurality of fluid passages between respective adjacent heat transfer plates, so that heat is exchanged between different fluids flowing in different fluid passages through the heat transfer across the heat transfer plates. More specifically, the invention is concerned with a heat exchanger of the type described above, wherein a plurality of separate scroll passages are formed by the spacer, so that local concentration of each fluid in its passage is avoided to remarkably improve the heat transfer efficiency.

Scroll type laminated heat exchanger

A joint for interconnecting a main pipe and an auxiliary pipe of a framework structure. The joint is adapted to envelope the main pipe and to be fixed thereto and is provided with an expanded portion. The auxiliary pipe is adapted to be fixed to the expanded portion of the joint so that the main pipe and the auxiliary pipe are connected to each other through the joint.
