In a vehicle power transmission device including a case housing a power transmission mechanism and a cover covering a side surface of the case in a vehicle width direction, the cover includes a stepped portion with a vehicle rear-side portion projecting outward in the vehicle width direction in a horizontal cross section, a front-side extending portion extending from the stepped portion to the vehicle front side and a plate-shaped inclined rib disposed at a corner portion between the stepped portion and the front-side extending portion, and inclined toward the front-side extending portion from a leading end portion of the stepped portion to the vehicle front side.

An engagement device includes: an engaged body configured to rotate in conjunction with a rotary shaft; an engaging body arranged coaxially with the engaged body and configured to engage with the engaged body by movement in an axial direction; a power source configured to provide thrust to the engaging body in the axial direction; and a hub member configured to couple the engaging body to a torque receiver which receives torque transmitted from the engaged body at a time the engaging body engages with the engaged body. A sealing structure using a liquid gasket, having a liquid gasket interposed in the form of a thin film between mating surfaces of a first member and a second member, thereby preventing the movement of oil via the mating surfaces, the sealing structure, includes at oil-side end portions of the mating surfaces, a gasket lump portion that is formed of an excess of the thin-film liquid gasket squeezed out from the mating surfaces, and an oil-shielding portion that covers a boundary portion where the gasket lump portion and the first member come into contact, thereby preventing a flow of the oil from directly striking the boundary portion, and is provided on an oil-flow upstream side from the boundary portion.

A planetary gear set includes a sun gear; pinions that are positioned around the sun gear and that mesh with the sun gear; and a ring gear that is positioned on the outer side of the pinions and that meshes with the pinions. Each pinion has a plurality of teeth on the outer surface thereof. Each tooth has a first tooth surface and a second tooth surface on opposite sides of the tooth, which can contact tooth surfaces of the sun gear and the ring gear. A transaxle includes a case having an opening, a second rotating electric machine stored in the opening of the case and having a stator, a rear planetary gear stored in the transaxle case and connected to the second rotating electric machine, a transaxle rear cover sealing the opening and a bolt fixing the second rotating electric machine to the transaxle case. The stator has first and second thrust end faces defining an axial length thereof. The first thrust end face is pressed against an inner surface of the case.

A planetary gearset provided with a sun gear, a ring gear, and a carrier that rotatably retains a plurality of pinion gears arranged between the sun gear and the ring gear as elements, in which one of the elements is made a fixed element and one of the other elements is made a rotating element, and which transmits torque between that rotating element and an external member provided in a location eccentric with respect to that rotating member. The planetary gearset is constructed such that the fixed element is movably retained in the direction of a load from the transmission of torque between the rotating element and the external member, and the load from the transmission of torque between the rotating element and the external member is received by a fixed portion that rotatably retains that rotating element.

A torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus provided between a crankshaft of an engine and a driven-side input shaft includes a flywheel coupled to the crankshaft and a damper assembly disposed in a torque transmission path between the flywheel and the driven-side input shaft. The damper assembly includes a pair of drive plates, a driven plate and a spring damper. A torque limiter is disposed in a torque transmission path between the flywheel and the damper assembly. The torque limiter includes a pair of linings which generates relative rotational slip between the flywheel and the damper assembly when a torque larger than a predetermined amount is transmitted and are adapted to slip when receiving at least a predetermined amount of torque. The linings of the torque limiter are fixed to one of the drive plates and are interposed between a flywheel main body and a damper cover that forms a part of the torque limiter. The drive plates, the linings and the damper cover are centered with respect to the flywheel main body, and are assembled together to provide an assembly of the flywheel main body, the damper assembly and the torque limiter. After the engine is assembled with the driven-side input shaft, the assembly of the flywheel main body, the damper assembly and the torque limiter is fastened to the flywheel plate that is fixed to the crankshaft.

Torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus having structure for reducing misalignment of torque limiter during assembling thereof, and method for assembling the same

A power transmission system comprising: a power synthesizing mechanism connected in a power transmitting manner to an electric motor and a power generator; and a speed change mechanism for changing the rotating speed of the electric motor to transmit the motor torque to the power synthesizing mechanism. An arranging region for the electric motor and an arranging region for the power generator do not overlap on each other in the axial directions of the output shaft of the electric motor and the rotary shaft of the power generator.

In this state, the control procedure drives a motor MGto rotate a crankshaft at an idling engine speed for a predetermined time period, when at least one of an observed oil temperature in a sump, an observed temperature of the motor MG, an observed temperature of the motor MG, an observed revolving speed of the motor MG, and an observed revolving speed of the motor MGis not less than a corresponding preset value. Rotation of the crankshaft at the idling engine speed results in driving an oil pump to feed a supply of lubricating oil to mechanical part of the power output apparatus including a power distribution integration mechanism.

A torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus includes a flywheel coupled to an engine crankshaft, a damper assembly disposed between the flywheel and the driven-side input shaft and including a pair of drive plates, a driven plate and spring dampers, and a torque limiter disposed between the flywheel and the damper assembly and including a pair of linings that are adapted to slip when receiving at least a predetermined amount of torque. In fabricating the apparatus, the drive plates and the linings are centered with each other and assembled into a damper-torque limiter assembly, while the lining support plate is centered with respect to the flywheel, such that the damper-torque limiter assembly is fixed at the lining support plate to the flywheel.
