In an ink jet head manufacturing method wherein a plurality of substrates provided with ejection energy generating elements for generating energy for ejecting ink, are arranged on a supporting member, and a top plate is mounted on the substrate to cover all of the substrates to form ink flow paths, the improvement residing in that the supporting member is provided with recesses at a supporting portion for supporting the substrates, and an adhesive material is supplied into the recesses, and thereafter, the substrate is placed on the supporting member.

Comprehensive portion extracting and judging unit extracts comprehensive portions covering image portions detected by the luminance change detecting unit when it is in the daytime and illuminance is smaller than a predetermined value and image portions detected by the hue change detecting unit at the same point of time, and judges the extracted comprehensive portions to represent objects to be detected.

A print evaluating apparatus includes an image reader having a plurality of photoreceptors to read a print pattern line by line; a relative movement causing device for imparting relative movement between the print pattern and the image reader in a direction different from a direction in which the photoreceptors are arranged; and a processor for effecting plural operations in parallel for plural evaluation items for image signals corresponding to the print pattern supplied by the image reader during the relative movement, and for effecting evaluation on data provided by the operations.

An ink-jet head assembling apparatus assembles a nozzle head of an ink-jet head for discharging an ink in a predetermined pattern from a heater board having a plurality of heaters for heating the ink, and a top plate member having a plurality of discharge orifices for discharging the ink heated by the corresponding heaters in a jet-like manner. The apparatus is provided with a first position detection mechanism for measuring forming positions of the discharge orifices of said top plate member, a second position detection mechanism for detecting arranging positions of the heaters on said heater board, a position adjustment mechanism for comparing a first detection result detected by said first position detection mechanism with a second detection result detected by said second position detection mechanism, and moving said top plate member relative to said heater board by a shift amount between the two detection results so as to align the positions of the heaters with the positions of the corresponding discharge orfices, and an adhesion mechanism for adhering said top plate member and said heater board aligned by said position adjustment mechanism to each other.
