Radio antenna unit and mobile radio device equipped with the same

A polarization switching antenna device capable of switching a polarization without increase of an antenna installing space and also handling a variety of frequency bands is provided. A connection state of one end of a loop antenna element arranged on a side surface of a case is switched. Thus, the polarization characteristic is switched by switching selectively whether the antenna element should constitute a loop antenna or a linear antenna. Matching circuits suitable for respective characteristics are provided. The loop antenna can be fed in terms of a balanced feeding. A balanced feeding and an unbalanced feeding can be switched.

Polarization switching antenna device

A mobile radio apparatus that achieves high radiation efficiency in various usage states of a foldable mobile radio apparatus without causing negative impact on communication, and that can realize a thin model. Antenna device

An antenna apparatus for use in a wristwatch radio communication device equipped with, for example, a PHS is provided. The antenna apparatus includes a loop conductor and a feed. The loop conductor has a given length and connects electrically at one end to a ground plate installed in the wristwatch radio communication device. The feed is disposed between the other end of the loop conductor and the ground plate. This provides a higher horizontal pattern average gain both during conversation and waiting times of radio communication.

An object of the invention is that a user obtains high antenna gain with a simple construction in various use conditions of a portable wireless unit. To achieve the above object, in the invention, of a conductive antenna element, a part of a length of a substantially half-wavelength is used as a monopole part ( ), and is disposed along the inside of a housing at the upper end of a portable wireless unit. Of the antenna element, the remaining part of a length of a substantially &frac14; wavelength is used for an inverted-F antenna part ( ), and disposed parallel to a ground plate surface within the housing of the portable wireless unit. Antenna apparatus and wireless apparatus and radio relaying apparatus using the same

A microstrip antenna (MSA) above a ground plane, having a size corresponding to an operation frequency, at a junction point thereof, electrically connected to one end of a monopole antenna having a size corresponding to the operation frequency to operate as a complex antenna. A distance between the feed point of MSA and the junction point determines the input impedance for matching. A microstrip line or an (planer) inverted-F antenna may provide the MSA. The monopole element may be a monopole antenna or helical antenna. A portable wireless communication apparatus includes the antenna apparatus having a housing. The monopole antenna is connected to the MSA when the monopole antenna is extended from the housing. A switch may be provided between the monopole antenna and the MSA for diversity operation. The antenna apparatus may be formed on a Printed circuit board and folded.

Antenna apparatus and a portable wireless communication apparatus

The invention provides a high-speed PLL frequency synthesizer in which the frequency of a reference signal can be made larger than a frequency interval of an external output with a simple configuration. An n-th harmonic of an output of a voltage-controlled oscillator is caused to pass through a band pass filter. The frequency of an output of the band pass filter is divided by M in a variable frequency divider. The phase of an output of the variable frequency divider is compared with that of the reference signal in a phase comparator. An output of the phase comparator is smoothed by a loop filter. The output of the voltage-controlled oscillator is controlled by an output of the loop filter. The fundamental wave of the output of the voltage-controlled oscillator is caused to pass through another band pass filter, and then output to the outside. At this time, the frequency of the reference signal is n times a frequency interval of the fundamental wave of the output of the voltage-controlled oscillator.

PLL frequency synthesizer

The present invention concerns a radio circuit including a local oscillator, a first receive frequency converter, a frequency divider and a demodulator. A receive signal and an output of the local oscillator are input to the first receive frequency converter. The receive signal is converted into a first intermediate signal by the first receive frequency converter, and the first intermediate frequency signal is input to the demodulator. The output of the local oscillator is frequency-divided by the frequency divider and also input to the demodulator. The signal converted into the first intermediate frequency is demodulated into a baseband signal by the demodulator.

Radio circuit having a local oscillator frequency which differs from the transmit frequency or the receive frequency and mobile radio apparatus

The output of a digital modulator is put into a power amplifying device, is distributed into n pieces in an n-power divider in the power amplifier, passes through n input phase shifters differing individually in the phase change amount, is amplified by n power amplifiers, passes through n output phase shifters to match the phase of n signals, is combined in an n-power combiner, and is issued from an output terminal to a phase shifter, and the output of the phase shifter is issued to a transmission antenna. Herein, the phase value of the phase shifter is determined so as to extend the region of the output load impedance for satisfying the specific value of unwanted radiation, and so that the output load impedance range of the load impedance of the power amplifier may be optimize to the impedance change range of the trans missionantenna, thereby eliminating the isolator and presenting a transmitting device of a portable wireless system realizing smaller size, higher performance, and lower cost of portable wireless system.

A frequency synthesizing system for use in an AM.multidot.SSB transceiver of double conversion type comprising a single crystal oscillator in its PLL synthesizer. The fundamental frequency of the PLL synthesizer provided by the oscillation of the crystal oscillator is selected to be n times (where n is an even number) the second intermediate frequency of the transceiver so that all the frequencies required for the operation of the AM.multidot.SSB transceiver can be derived from the oscillation frequency of the single crystal oscillator, whereby to simplify the structure of the AM.multidot.SSB transceiver and to facilitate the adjustment of the transceiver.

Frequency synthesizing system for AM.multidot.SSB transceiver

A PLL synthesizer for a multi-channel civil band transceiver uses a D-flip-flop between a voltage controlled oscillator and a programmable divider which are parts of the loop. A reference signal is divided in a first divider to form a signal representing the frequency difference between adjacent transceiver channels which is applied to a phase comparator in the loop and the reference signal is frequency divided in a second divider to obtain a signal applied to the clock input of the D-flip-flop.
