Interlocking flag, indicating whether or not an interlocked display should be made, can be set in association with predetermined editing operators. When any of the operators is operated, a displayed screen on a display is switched over to a screen related to the operated operator, if the interlocking flag associated with the operated operator indicates flag-ON; if not, the display device may be used to perform another function. A plurality n of channels may be divided into a plurality of layers each consisting of predetermined number m channels. It is only necessary that a limited number of operators, e.g. faders, be provided to correspond to a single layer, i.e. m channels. Any of the layers is selected, and any of the operators is used for the selected layer. A set of stereo channels can be set across different layers so as to interlock with each other in response to editing operation of the operator.

Audio signal editing apparatus and control method therefor

A plurality of displayable screens are classified into a plurality of screen groups in such a manner that two or more of the screens belong to each individual screen group. Once a desired one of the screen groups is designated by activation of a shift switch, respective tabs of the two or more screens belonging to the designated screen group are visually displayed on a display device. Then, once a desired one of the thus-displayed tabs is designated by activation of a tab switch, the screen corresponding to the thus-designated tab is displayed on the display device. Even when the tab display has been switched by designating another screen group, the screen corresponding to the last designated tab (i.e., main screen), is prevented from being changed unless another tab is designated.

An electronic apparatus which is capable of preventing loss of edited operation data even if a user fails to perform a saving operation on the edited operation data. A set of operation data is recalled from either the original storage or the shadow storage to the current storage. Changing of the contents of the operation data stored in the current storage is reflected in the contents of a corresponding set of operation data of the n sets of operation data stored in the shadow storage. When a set of the operation data stored in the current storage is saved, the saved set of operation data is written into a storage area of the original storage and a corresponding storage area of the shadow storage.

A mixing console has, for example, eight signal processing channels each for processing audio signals, and indicator units respectively for the signal processing channels. Each indicator unit is to display the channel number or the note name or another short message about the channel. Each channel is provided with a control element for commanding a control such as setting equalizer parameters. When a control element is actuated and held for more than one second, for example, such an actuation causes the designation of a channel about which a long message is displayed by using the indicator units for the eight channels in series.

To mix signals of a plurality of input channels, first buses and second buses are provided. It is possible that, even when a user has selected a desired first surround mode and a desired effect to be imparted, an effecter is capable of performing only an effect process corresponding to a second surround mode. However, if arrangements are made such that the input signals are subjected to level adjustment corresponding to the second surround mode and mixed via the second buses to the effecter, the effecter can impart the mixed signals with an effect corresponding to the second surround mode. The effect-imparted signals are returned to the first buses, and mixed on the first buses to provide effect-imparted signals corresponding to the first surround mode. In the second surround mode, sound image localization may be controlled to follow localization in the first surround mode.

Digital mixer and digital mixing method

A signal mixing apparatus utilizing digital signal processing technology for mixing digital signals comprising parallel data of plural channels include an analog addition circuit for adding, in analog, data of the same bit of parallel input data in plural channels, an analog-to-digital conversion circuit for converting added analog data of respective bits to digital data, and a digital addition circuit for adding, in digital, the converted digital data of all bits together. Since the data of the same bit of parallel input data of plural channels are added together in analog through the analog addition circuit such as a bus and an analog adder, digital input data of a large number of channels can be mixed together with a small amount of wiring.
