A heat exchanger includes tubes arranged side by side, and a tank connected to ends of the tubes. The heat exchanger performs heat exchange between a first fluid flowing inside the tubes and a second fluid flowing outside the tubes. The heat exchanger includes a closing member disposed inside the tank and partially closing an opening provided at an end of a predetermined tube that is at least one of the tubes. The predetermined tube has a protrusion formed at the end of the predetermined tube. The closing member has an avoiding structure that avoids interference between the protrusion and the closing member.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes tubes, a tank, and a prevention plate arranged inside the tank and contacting end surfaces of the tubes to prevent heat medium from flowing into the tubes in a certain region. Flow paths are formed in each tube and arranged in a width direction of the tube. The prevention plate includes a deformable portion elastically deformable by contacting an edge of the opening at a time of inserting the prevention plate into the tank from the opening. The deformable portion of the prevention plate that has been inserted into the tank is restored and receives a reaction force from an inner surface of the tank such that the prevention plate is shifted along the width direction by the reaction force.

A heat exchanger is configured to exchange heat between a heat medium and an air. The heat exchanger includes a tube through which the heat medium flows therein, and a fin that is formed by bending a metal plate and that is brazed to a surface of the tube. The fin includes a louver. The surface of the tube defines an introducing groove configured to introduce a brazing material melted at brazing from a connecting portion between the tube and the fin to an other portion.

A stacked cooler includes flow pipes that are stacked, each of the flow pipes having a flat shape and including a medium passage in which a heat medium flows, a heat exchange object that is disposed between each adjacent two of the flow pipes and is clamped between their flat planes, a protruding pipe part that is connected to at least one of the flow pipes and protrudes in a stacking direction of the flow pipes, and a load restraining part that restrains a load applied to a connection portion of the at least one of the flow pipes to the protruding pipe part as compared with a load applied to the other portion of the at least one of the flow pipes.

Stacked cooler

An alternator for a vehicle is provided which is equipped with a heat dissipator and a cooling air generator. The heat dissipator is disposed in a rectifier to cool rectifying devices. The cooling air generator generates a flow of cooling air to the heat dissipator. The heat dissipator has a plurality of sub-fins formed thereon. Each of the sub-fins is defined by a combination of a protrusion and a recess. The protrusions are formed on one of opposed major surfaces of the heat dissipator, while the recesses are formed on the other major surface, one in coincidence with each of the protrusions in a thickness-wise direction of the heat dissipator. This permits the heat dissipator to be pressed to form the protrusions and the recesses to make the sub-fins simultaneously, thus allowing a heat-dissipating area to be increased to ensure a desired degree of heat capacity thereof.

An alternator has front and rear bearings, supported by front and rear frames, to rotatably support a shaft of a rotor extending along axial direction. A washer is located between the rear frame and the rear bearing to apply pressing force to the rear bearing slightly movable along axial direction. The washer has a ring-shaped base portion concentrically located with the rear bearing, slanting portions extending from the base portion toward outside of radial direction such that two adjacent slanting portions arranged as each pair along circumferential direction are inclined to different sides of axial direction, and flattened portions extending from respective slanting portions toward outside and being parallel to the base portion. Flattened portions shifted to front side are in contact with the rear bearing, and flattened portions shifted to rear side are in contact with the rear frame.

An automotive alternator includes a magnet holder that is composed of first and second magnet holder pieces. Each of the first and second magnet holder pieces is made of a nonmagnetic metal plate to have a one-piece structure. Each of the first and second magnet holder pieces includes a plurality of receiving portions, each of which receives a permanent magnet, and a plurality of connecting portions. All the receiving portions of the first magnet holder piece have the same orientation. Each of the connecting portions of the first magnet holder piece connects a circumferentially-adjacent pair of the receiving portions of the first magnet holder piece. All the receiving portions of the second magnet holder piece have the same orientation. Each of the connecting portions of the second magnet holder piece connects a circumferentially-adjacent pair of the receiving portions of the second magnet holder piece.

A brushless alternating current generator for vehicles comprises a stator, rotor, field winding, rectifier, housing, cover, and extension member. The rectifier has plural rectifying elements to rectify a voltage from the stator winding and output the rectified voltage and a radiating fin to which the rectifying elements are attached. The housing has a side wall and houses both the stator and the rotor and has an end face to which electric parts including the rectifier are attached. The side wall is along the axial direction. The end face is along the radial direction. Both the side wall and the radiating fin are mutually adjacent to provide a gap in the radial direction. The cover encloses the end face of the housing and has plural air inlets that takes in cooling air. The extension member is secured to the cover and extends into the gap in the axial direction.

Brushless type of vehicular AC generator

A brushless alternator includes a stationary field winding, a rotor, a stator, a rectifier, a terminal, and a protective resistor. The stationary field winding creates a magnetic flux. The rotor creates a rotating magnetic field with the magnetic flux created by the field winding. The stator includes three different-phase windings to generate a three-phase AC power in the rotating magnetic field created by the rotor. The rectifier rectifies the three-phase AC power generated by the stator into a DC power. The terminal is provided so that AC power generated by one of the three windings of the stator can be output from the alternator to external through the terminal. The protective resistor is electrically connected between the terminal and the one of the three windings of the stator to protect the alternator from electrical damage.

According to an AC generator for vehicles of the present invention, a terminal mount includes an L-shaped support having a radial extension, in which a metal terminal is contained and which radially extends about a rotary shaft of a rotor, and an axial extension, which extends from an end of the radial extension toward a rear cover along the rotary shaft, and at least one first guide molded integral with the L-shaped support. A radiating fin includes a second guide having a shape corresponding to a shape of the first guide. One of the first guide and the second guide is inserted into the other of the first guide and the second guide.

AC generator for vehicles

A brushless AC generator is mounted on a vehicle such as a truck, a farming vehicle or a construction vehicle. The generator is composed of a housing, stator fixedly contained in the housing, a rotor, for supplying a magnetic field to the stator, rotatably supported in the stator, and other associated components including a voltage regulator and a rectifier. The housing is composed of a front housing and a rear housing. An outside fan is connected to a rotor shaft and disposed at a front side. Cooling air is introduced into the generator by the outside fan through windows formed in the rear housing. A fringe surface of the window facing a shoulder portion of the rotor is sloped, so that the cooling air is smoothly introduced along the sloped surface thereby to improve cooling efficiency.

Brushless AC generator for use in automotive vehicle

The vehicle-use generator driven by a vehicle engine at a rotating shaft thereof includes a rotor rotatably mounted to the rotating shaft, a stator fixedly located radially outward of the rotor, a cooling fan fixed to the rotor to rotate together with the rotating shaft in order to generate cooling air for cooling the stator, and a housing that houses the rotor and the stator and rotatably supports the rotating shaft. The housing is provided with ribs arranged in a circumferential direction of the rotating shaft so as to form cooling air outlet windows. The ribs are inclined with respect to a radial direction of the rotating shaft, and shaped such that widths of the ribs are gradually changed cyclically in the circumferential direction.

Vehicle-use generator with reduced fan noise

A Lundell type rotor of an alternator has a pole core disposed on an outer side of a field coil in a radial direction of the rotor, and a non-magnetic claw pole joint ring. The pole core has claw poles disposed along a circumferential direction of the rotor at predetermined intervals. Each claw pole extends along an axial direction of the rotor and is magnetized in response to an electric current supplied to the field coil. The joint ring is formed by spirally bending a long band bar in a coil shape and has turn portions disposed along the axial direction. Each turn portion of the joint ring has no seams and is attached to inner side surfaces of the claw poles in the radial direction.

According to the present invention, a brushless alternator includes a stationary field winding, a rotor with a rotary shaft, a bearing rotatably supporting an end portion of the rotary shaft, a stator, a protective cover, and a rectifier covered by the protective cover. The rectifier includes a plurality of main rectifying elements for providing a DC output of the alternator, a heat sink having the main rectifying elements provided thereon and working to dissipate heat generated by the main rectifying elements, and a plurality of auxiliary rectifying elements for supplying DC field current to the field winding. The auxiliary rectifying elements are arranged in an axial space between the bearing and the protective cover and kept away from the heat sink. With such an arrangement, it is possible to minimize heat transfer from the heat sink to the auxiliary rectifying elements, thereby minimizing the temperature of the auxiliary rectifying elements.

A vehicle alternator for generating electric power has a stator, a rotor, a rectifier, a regulator case, and a cooling fin part. A stator winding is wound on the stator. The rotor is placed on opposite faces to the stator. The rectifier rectifies an alternating current output voltage excited in the stator winding. The regulator case accommodates a regulator substrate for adjusting the output voltage and a heat sink. On one surface of the heat sink the regulator substrate is mounted. The cooling fin part has plural cooling fins bonded to the other surface of the heat sink. The cooling fin part and the heat sink are made of a same material of a superior thermal expansion coefficient, such as copper or copper alloy.
