A blow-molded article made from a polyphenylene ether/polyamide composition reinforced with glass fibers is provided. The article is excellent in mechanical properties and blow moldability. The composition comprises a mixture consisting of (A) 10-65 parts by weight of a polyphenylene ether and (B) 90-35 parts by weight of a polyamide and, on the basis of 100 parts by weight of said mixture, (C) 10-100 parts by weight of a glass fiber, (D) 1-35 parts by weight of a polyolefin and (E) 0.01-10 parts by weight of an unsaturated polar monomer compound having in its molecule both (a) carbon-carbon double bond or carbon-carbon triple bond and (b) carboxyl group, acid anhydride group, amino group, acid amide group, imide group, epoxy group, carboxylic acid ester group, isocyanate group, methylol group or hydroxyl group as a compatibilizing agent, amounts of (C), (D) and (E) being based on 100 parts by weight of [(A)+(B)].

Blow-molded article made from thermoplastic resin composition

There is provided a polymer composition having improved discoloration resistance upon exposure to light comprising a polyphenylene ether, a polyamide, and a combination of (a), a inorganic filler selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide, zinc oxide, zinc sulfide, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, titanium oxide coated mica, and metal particles, and (b), an organic dye or pigment which bleaches upon exposure to light, in an amount effective to improve the discoloration resistance.

Thermoplastic resin composition

A resin composition having improved resistance to discoloration caused by exposure to light, which comprises (a) 5-95% by weight of a polyphenylene ether alone or in combination with a styrene polymer, (b) 95-5% by weight of a polyamide, and based on 100 parts by weight of the sum of (a) and (b), (c) 0.01-30 parts by weight of one or more agents to improve the compatibility of a polyphenylene ether and a polyamide, (d) 0-50 parts by weight of one or more agents to improve the impact resistance, and (e) 0.1-15 parts by weight of metal particles having 10 .mu.m or less of weight average particle size and 3 or more of aspect ratio, and 60% by weight or more of (e) metal particles being included in (b) a polyamide.

A thermoplastic resin composition having a good balance among rigidity, impact strength and adhesion of coating is provided, which comprises:

A resin composition having improved resistance to discoloration by sunlight comprising (A) a polymer mixture which comprises a polyphenylene ether, a polyamide and optionally a polystyrene and/or an agent to improve the impact resistance, and (B) an inorganic powder whose mean particle size is less than or equql to 5 micrometer, in an amount of more than or equal to 15 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the polyphenylene ether in the polymer mixture (A), which is selected from the group consisting of titanium oxide, mica coated with titanium oxide, barium sulphate, zinc oxide and zinc sulfide.
