A wire harness manufacturing method includes manufacturing a standard-size electric wire in which a terminal-equipped electric wire which is connected to a terminal is manufactured in lot units for each type, clamping the terminal-equipped electric wire to a pair of electric wire clips, dispensing a plurality of terminal-equipped electric wires respectively clamped by the electric wire clamps to electric wire holders, storing the plurality of the terminal-equipped electric wires temporarily in the electric wire holders, locking the both end portions of the terminal-equipped electric wire to an electric wire clip tool respectively and aggregating an electric wire group configuring a wire harness at the electric wire clip tool to form a harness set, and detaching the end portions of the terminal-equipped electric wire from the harness set and inserting the terminal connected and fixed into a terminal accommodating chamber of a connector housing.

A terminal insertion device that inserts a terminal into a connector housing, is provided with a stationary disk, a parallel joint mechanism which grasps an electric wire which is connected to the terminal at a leading end and conveys the electric wire and inserts the terminal into a cavity of the connector housing, a biaxial sensor portion capable of measuring at least a contour position of the terminal, roll angle calculation portion which calculates a roll angle with respect to a reference condition, and a roll angle compensation control portion that controls the parallel joint mechanism to compensate an inclination of the terminal.

Terminal insertion device and terminal insertion method

The present invention is to provide a terminal insertion apparatus and method to insert a terminal into a terminal-receiving chamber without hitting an inner surface of the terminal-receiving chamber. A terminal insertion apparatus includes a housing holder unit, an insertion unit, and a control device. The housing holder unit holds a connector housing and is movable in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction. The insertion unit inserts a terminal attached with an electrical wire into a terminal-receiving chamber of the connector housing. The control device controls a move unit support portion to reciprocate a housing holder by a move distance after an end portion of the terminal is inserted into the terminal-receiving chamber so that the terminal can be inserted without hitting an inner surface of the terminal-receiving chamber.

Method for inserting a terminal

A terminal insertion apparatus having a connector housing holding unit, a terminal insertion unit, and a control unit. The connector housing holding unit holds a connector housing movably in horizontal and vertical directions. The terminal insertion unit inserts a terminal attached to an electric wire into a terminal accommodating chamber of the connector housing. After the terminal insertion unit has inserted an end of the terminal into the terminal accommodating chamber, the control unit controls a movable supporting unit of the connector housing holding unit so as to move a holding jig by amounts of movement in horizontal and vertical directions so that the terminal is not caught on an inner surface of the terminal accommodating chamber, and then the terminal is completely inserted in the terminal accommodating chamber.

Method for inserting a terminal of an electrical wire

The present invention is to provide a terminal insertion apparatus to insert a terminal into a terminal receiving chamber without hitting an inner surface of the terminal receiving chamber. A terminal insertion apparatus includes a housing holder unit, an insertion unit, and a control device. The housing holder unit holds a connector housing and is movable in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction. The insertion unit inserts a terminal attached with an electrical wire into a terminal receiving chamber of the connector housing. Terminal insertion apparatus

A terminal inserting device is provided, by which pulling force to pull a terminal fitting can be changed after the terminal fitting is inserted. The terminal inserting device includes an inserting unit and a control device. The inserting unit includes a front chuck unit and electric wire chuck unit, by which an electric wire is chucked and a terminal fitting attached to the electric wire is inserted into a terminal-receiving chamber of a connector housing. The electric wire chuck unit includes a pair of electric wire chucks, an insertion motor and an air cylinder. The electric wire chucks chuck the electric wire therebetween. The insertion motor pulls the terminal fitting after the terminal fitting is inserted in the terminal-receiving chamber. The air cylinder changes force which brings the pair of the electric wire chucks close to the connector housing so that pulling force to pull the terminal fitting can be changed. The control device controls the air cylinder to change the pulling force.

Terminal inserting device

Providing a terminal inserting apparatus which does not give a limitation to an assembled wiring harness thereby, the terminal inserting apparatus includes a jig mounting unit, a housing holding unit, an inserting unit and a jig transporting unit. The jig mounting unit has a plurality of holding jigs. The holding jig has a connector housing. The housing holding unit has one holding jig including the connector housing. The inserting unit inserts the terminalconnected with the electric wire into a terminal receiving chamber of the connector housing. The jig transporting unit transports the holding jig from the jig mounting unit to the housing holding unit.

Terminal inserting apparatus

A terminal insertion apparatus includes a wire-holding unit, a housing-holding unit, and an terminal-inserting unit. The wire-holding unit holds electric wires connected to terminal fittings. The housing-holding unit holds a connector housing. The terminal-inserting unit inserts the terminal fittings connected to the electric wires held by the wire-holding unit into the connector housing. The terminal-inserting unit keeps holding the electric wire connected to the lastly inserted terminal fitting and moves the electric wire to the wire-holding unit. Then, the wire-holding unit holds the electric wire.

In a method of stripping an insulated electric wire, circumferential cuts are formed in an insulating coating of the electric wire by use of circumferential cutters and then the circumferential cutters are moved in a longitudinal direction of the electric wire to separate cut pieces of the insulating coating from itself. After longitudinal cuts have been formed in the insulating coating by use of longitudinal cutters the insulating coating is removed by an air blow and an upper waste coating is sucked by a vacuum. Longitudinally cut edges of the insulating coating are abutted against shoulders which continue by intersection with inclined outer faces of cutting edges of the longitudinal cutters. A lower waste coating falls by a self weight between a pair of the longitudinal cutters. An ultrasonic horn may be employed to press the insulating coating toward the longitudinal cutters while making ultrasonic vibrations.
