Provided is an apparatus for measuring the thickness, roughness, and morphology index of the mandibular cortical bone using a dental panorama image to assist in the diagnosis of osteoporosis, wherein the thickness, roughness, and morphological index of the cortical bone is measured more accurately and the diagnosis of osteoporosis can be supported more accurately. An osteoporosis diagnostic support apparatus, wherein the apparatus has a contour extraction unit adapted to extract a mandibular contour from an image of a mandibular cortical bone photographed by a photographic apparatus adapted to photograph the mandibular cortical bone and surroundings thereof, a line segment extraction unit adapted to extract line segments from the image of the mandibular cortical bone photographed by the photographic apparatus; and a cortical bone thickness calculation unit adapted to calculate a thickness of the cortical bone based on the extracted mandibular contour and line segments.

There is provided an image analysis system which captures image data of an arbitrary pair of a first image RI and a second image LI among images obtained by color-photographing a single object from different positions into an analysis computer, wherein the computer includes corresponding point extraction means for assigning a weighing factor to a pixel information value based on the contrast size of the pixel information value in each of a first local area ROIset around an arbitrary reference point in RI and second local areas ROIs at which scanning is performed on LI, calculating the similarity between ROIand ROIs, and extracting a corresponding point which corresponds to the reference point from a ROIhaving the highest similarity, and depth information calculating means for calculating depth information of the object based on coordinates of the reference point and the corresponding point.

Image analysis system and image analysis program

A model eye that models the optical characteristics of a human eye and is endowed with a grayscale pattern on the ocular fundus model surface is stereographically photographed with a parallax via a stereo photographic optical system. Photographed images are processed to provide calibration data for correcting the shape distortions of the stereo photographic optical system. The calibration data is used to correct a distortion-affected shape data and parallax images obtained in stereographic photography of the actual ocular fundus of a subject's eye. The shape distortion-corrected parallax image is used for a three-dimensional measurement process and 3D display on a stereo monitor. This allows an accurate three-dimensional measurement to be carried out and an accurate fundus image to be produced. The examiner can accurately evaluate the stereo shape of the ocular fundus of the subject's eye.
