Providing a particle distributed electroluminescent device which is improved in luminescent color control, prevention of luminescent color change over time and heavy circuit load, and/or representation of a delicate gradation sequence, as well as capable of providing high brightness and luminous efficiency, and a display unit using such an electroluminescence device. Two types of luminescent particles, each having a dielectric core and a fluorescent coating layer are used as luminescent particles distributed in a luminescent layer of a particle distributed electroluminescence device. The dielectric cores of the two types of luminescent particles are formed of dielectric materials having different dielectric constants with each other.

An image forming apparatus in which an image is formed on paper without it being necessary for the user to identify and select paper having a suitable texture. Input image data is expanded to bit map data, and it is determined as to whether at least 30% of the expanded bit map data is a character image data region. When this determination is affirmative, a tray is selected, wherein paper having a glossiness such that its 45&#xb0; reflectance is at most 20% is accommodated. If the determination is negative, that is, when at least 70% of the expanded bit map data is neither a character image data region nor a blank data region, a tray is selected, wherein paper having a glossiness such that its 45&#xb0; reflectance is at least 50%, is accommodated. An image is then printed on the selected paper.

In a processing method wherein, after a silver halide color photographic material is subjected to color development, the silver halide color photographic material is desilvered and then washed and/or stabilized, a photographic material that has at least one high-silver chloride emulsion layer, and in which at least one emulsion layer contains a monodisperse emulsion, is rapidly processed with a color developer having a water-soluble high polymer compound. The coating amount of silver of the said silver halide color photographic material is preferably 0.75 g/m or less, and the color developer contains chloride ions in an amount of 0.035 mol/liter or more. In continuous and rapid processing, fluctuations of photographic properties (particularly changes in sensitivity and gradation) are remarkably reduced, the ununiformity of developed density is remarkably improved, and the occurrence of a deposit on a processing tank wall surface is prevented.

Color developing agent, processing liquid composition and color image-forming method

Processing a silver halide color photographic material comprising color developing, desilvering and water washing and/or stabilizing. In this process, a photographic material which has at least one emulsion layer containing a high silver chloride content, and at least one emulsion layer containing a monodisperse emulsion, is continuously processed with a color developing solution containing a water-soluble high polymer compound. The coated amount of silver in the photographic material is preferably 0.75 g/m.sup.2 or less. The color developing solution preferably has a chloride ion content of 0.035 mol/l or more. The water soluble high polymer compound can be a polyester, polyamide, polyurethane, polyether, polycarbonate or a natural high polymer compound, or their derivatives. It is obtained by polymerizing or copolymerizing a monomer containing a copolymerizable ethylene type unsaturated group. The high polymer compound is preferably added in the amount of 0.001-10 g per liter of the color developing solution. By using this process, fluctuations in photographic properties is remarkably reduced, uniformity in developed density is remarkably improved, and the prevention of deposits on the processing tank wall surface is improved.

A nonaqueous secondary battery comprising positive and negative sheet electrodes, each composed of a collector coated with an electrode material mixture containing the respective active material and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt, wherein the electrode material mixture is present on both the inner and the outer sides of the collector and the coating thickness of the electrode material mixture on the inner side of the collector of the positive and/or negative electrode(s) is smaller than that of the electrode material mixture on the outer side of said collector. The battery is excellent in charge and discharge cycle characteristics, and the sheet electrodes have excellent winding properties when rolled up into cylinders.

Nonaqueous secondary battery

There is disclosed a method for processing a silver halide color photographic material. The method comprises processing a silver halide color photographic material having a photographic layer, the degree of swelling of which is 1.2 to 3.0, by a color developer containing at least one compound represented by formula (I) in an amount of 0.01 to 10 g per liter of said color developer. ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 each represent a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, or an alkenyl group, which may be substituted, n is an integer of 1 to 3, and M represents a hydrogen atom or a counter cation.

Method for processing a silver halide color photographic material

A photographic light-sensitive material processing method in which not only a low-replenishment process, a speedy process and a compensation process in addition to a standard process can be carried out, but replenishment can be performed appropriately for various types of film or the like. A plurality of color developers are accommodated in respective developing tanks. A controller sets conveyance paths to selectively convey light-sensitive materials to any one of the development tanks. Further, the controller controls the operations of replenishment pumps by calculating the appropriate replenishment rate in accordance with the quantity of processing of film through a conveyance quantity detection sensor, a density detection sensor, a memory and an arithmetic operation unit.

A color development process for processing an imagewise exposed silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer comprising a color coupler and a silver iodobromide emulsion containing silver iodide in an amount of from 2 to 20 mol %, comprising the step of processing the color photographic material in a color developing solution containing a color developing agent and bromide ion for 40 seconds to 90 seconds, wherein the color developing agent is represented by formula (D'): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1d, and R.sub.2d, each represents an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and L.sub.1 represents a straight-chain or branched alkylene group having 3 or 4 carbon atoms, the concentration {Br.sup.- } of bromide ion in the color developing solution is from 30 to 60 mmol/l, the relationship between the concentration {R} of the color developing agent in the color developing solution and the concentration {Br.sup.- } of bromide ion in the color developing solution and the relationship between the development processing temperature Tem and the concentration {Br.sup.- } of bromide ion are maintained to satisfy a Rule defined by the following equations: {R}=((0.63.times.{Br.sup.- })+(14)).+-.16 (mmol/l); Tem=((0.19.times.{Br.sup.- })+(39)).+-.5 (.degree.C.), where {R} is the concentration of color developing agent in units of mmol/l; {Br.sup.- } is the concentration of bromide ion in units of mmol/l; and Tem is the development processing temperature in .degree.C.
