A light emitting device includes: a mounting board; a light source positioned on the mounting board; a light diffusion plate; a diffuse reflector positioned between the mounting board and the light diffusion plate, and above at least part of an emission face of the light source; and a wavelength conversion layer positioned on or above the diffuse reflector.

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a plurality of light sources, a partitioning member and a diffuser sheet. The light sources are disposed on an upper surface of the substrate. The partitioning member is disposed on the upper surface of the substrate and including top parts. The partitioning member is reflective. The diffuser sheet is in contact with the top parts of the partitioning member.

A light emitting device includes: a mounting board; a plurality of light sources positioned on the mounting board; a light diffusion plate; a half mirror positioned between the light diffusion plate and the plurality of light sources; and a plurality of diffuse reflectors positioned between the mounting board and the light diffusion plate, and above at least part of each emission face of the plurality of light sources. A light emitting device includes a plurality of light sources, a substrate, a partitioning member, a diffuser sheet, a plurality of first reflectors, and a second reflector. Each of the light sources includes a light emitting element and an encapsulant covering the light emitting element. The light sources are disposed on the substrate. The partitioning member surrounds the light sources and has a plurality of areas formed by walls having top parts. The walls include surfaces inclined with respect to an upper surface of the substrate to spread out from bottom parts toward the top parts. The diffuser sheet is provided over the partitioning member. The first reflectors are provided directly over the light sources, on an upper surface or a lower surface of the diffuser sheet. The second reflector is provided directly over the top parts, on the upper surface or the lower surface of the diffuser sheet.

A light emitting device includes a mounting board on which a plurality of light sources are disposed; a partitioning member surrounding the light sources and including a plurality of walls that include top parts and form a plurality of areas; a diffuser sheet provided above the partitioning member and supported directly or indirectly by at least one of the top parts; a plurality of first reflectors provided directly above the light sources and positioned on one of an upper surface and a lower surface of the diffuser sheet; a second reflector provided directly above the top parts and positioned on one of the upper surface and the lower surface of the diffuser sheet; and a wavelength conversion sheet positioned above the diffuser sheet. The first reflectors contain a light absorbing material that absorbs at least part of a wavelength of light from the light sources.

An optical member includes one or more lens surfaces, each lens surface comprising a curved surface having: a curvature in a first direction, and a curvature in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction in an imaginary plane perpendicular to an optical axis of incident light. Each of the one or more lens surfaces has a substantially rectangular planar shape when viewed in an optical axis direction, the substantially rectangular planar shape being defined by two sides substantially parallel to the first direction and two sides substantially parallel to the second direction. The curvature in the second direction continuously increases from a first end of each of the one or more lens surfaces in the first direction toward a second end of each of the one or more lens surfaces in the first direction.
