A handy terminal allowing an object of interest such as a cargo to be efficiently searched utilizing an RFID tag is provided. A detection unit detects the distance and direction of an RFID tag attached to an object of search from a point for observing the distance and direction. A reading unit reads information on the external shape of the object of search written in a memory portion of the RFID tag. An image processing unit displays a three-dimensional graphic of the disposition of the RFID tag based on the distance and direction detected by the detection unit and compositely displaying a three-dimensional appearance image of the object of search estimated from the external shape information of the object of search read by the reading unit in the position where the three-dimensional graphic of the RFID tag is displayed.

An apparatus for determining life of a battery which supplies charged electricity to an electrical appliance is equipped with a storage part for storing relationship between standard total values of discharge voltage drop amounts since a start of discharge of the battery and standard life values, a discharge voltage drop amount totalizer part for totalizing the discharge voltage drop amounts since the start of discharge with the battery being discharged, and a life determination part for determining the life of the battery from a measured total value of totalized discharge voltage drop amounts and the standard total values of the storage means.

An oil concentration meter includes a sample cell for receiving an oil sample that can be irradiated with infrared rays from a light source. A first interference filter having a design wavelength of 3.4 .mu.m is positioned before a measuring detector, while a second interference filter transmitting a band range between 1 .mu.m and 5 .mu.m is positioned in front of a reference detector. A logarithm of the ratio of the reference detector output to the measuring detector output is used for determining the oil concentration in a sample.

An interconnectable power supply module includes a battery; a battery charger for charging the battery; a power generator capable of converting an electrical charge stored in the battery to generate output power for an external load; a control unit for controlling operation of the power supply module; a power supply plug for receiving external power from an external power source; a power supply socket capable of coupling the external power received from the external power source to an adjacent power supply module; an external load output socket, selectively coupled to one of the external power source and the power generator, for providing output power to the external load; and a connecting terminal capable of coupling the external load output power to the adjacent power supply module.
