A starting device is used in a starting system that includes a starting electric motor unit and a rotating electrical machine; the starting electric motor unit including a motor that rotates a pinion gear, and a pushing member that pushes out the pinion gear toward a ring gear, the ring gear rotating together with a crankshaft of an engine; the rotating electrical machine being connected to the crankshaft and rotating the crankshaft; the starting system being configured to push, using the pushing member, the pinion gear toward the ring gear, and drive the motor to rotate, based on driving force of the motor, the ring gear via the pinion gear, thus starting the engine. The starting device includes a drive instruction unit that instructs the rotating electrical machine to rotate the ring gear via the crankshaft during a pre-drive period before drive of the motor.

Starting device, rotating electrical machine, and starting electric motor unit

In response to a restarting request generated during a stopping period, in which fuel injection is stopped to automatically stop engine operation, either starter starting or combustion starting is selected. In the starter starting, the engine is restarted using a starter motor. In the combustion starting, the engine is restarted through fuel injection and ignition without using the starter motor. If the rotational resistance acting on the crankshaft is determined to be of such a magnitude that the combustion starting is impossible, the starter starting is carried out in response to the restarting request generated during the stopping period.

Controller and control method for internal combustion engine

A start control system for an engine is provided. The engine is a direct injection engine, and the engine is provided with a starter motor. The start control system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to execute fuel injection and ignition in a cylinder in an expansion stroke so as to start the engine without using the starter motor, when the electronic control unit determines that a restart condition of the engine is satisfied immediately before the engine is stopped. The electronic control unit is configured to control an ignition delay time based on at least one of a rotational direction and a rotational speed of a crankshaft, during execution of the fuel injection. The ignition delay time is a period of time from fuel injection into the cylinder in the expansion stroke to ignition.

Start control system for engine and start control method for engine

In the cases where a reverse operation of a crankshaft is performed after fuel injection and ignition in a cylinder in a power stroke and it is determined that an engine start is failed, a starter motor is operated, and fuel injection and ignition are executed in the cylinder in the compression stroke to start an engine.

Start controller for engine

When a stop position of a piston resulting from the automatic stop is in a range that is on an advance side of a threshold in terms of crank angle, fuel injection is performed at beginning of the automatic restart-up in the cylinder that is in the intake stroke and an ignition is performed in a subsequent initial compression stroke in the same cylinder. When the stop position of the piston resulting is in a range that is on a retard side of the threshold in terms of crank angle, initial fuel injection is performed in the cylinder that next enters an intake stroke among the cylinders of the internal combustion engine after the beginning of automatic restart-up and initial ignition is performed in a subsequent compression stroke in the same cylinder. The threshold is determined in accordance with an amount of deviation of a crank angle.

Control apparatus for automatically restarting an internal combustion engine

In an exhaust gas sensor control system and control method, the exhaust pipe wall temperature is estimated based on the measured exhaust gas temperature measured, the exhaust gas flow rate, and the measured outside air temperature, with reference to a supplied heat quantity calculation map, wall temperature added value map, and a wall temperature subtracted value map. Then the dew-point of the exhaust pipe is calculated based on the air-fuel ratio of the air flow amount to the weight of fuel, and a condensed water added amount is calculated based on the relative wall temperature and the exhaust gas flow amount. The amount of condensed water is then estimated by summing the calculated condensed water added amounts.

Exhaust gas sensor control system and control method

The electronic control unitcontinues the learning process until a predetermined time period set based on an exhaust gas transport delay elapses from when the fuel cut-off operation is terminated.

A valve control device performs control for eliminating or preventing fixation of an EGR valve () by opening/closing the valve near its fully closed position. After an engine stops, the valve control device performs 'a fixation avoiding operation' for opening/closing EGR valve () near the fully closed position, and further, performs 'a fixation determining operation'. When it is determined that the fixation of EGR valve () is eliminated, EGR valve () is positioned at the fully closed position, and a reference position is corrected such that the fully closed position is regarded as a reference position at which a valve opening/closing control is performed during the operation of the engine.

Valve control device and method for internal combustion engine

A valve control apparatus of a diesel engine () is provided with an EGR valve (), which is provided in an EGR passage () of the engine () and varies the flow rate of exhaust gas flowing through a passage () by carrying out an opening and closing motion, and an actuator (), which executes a sticking avoiding operation for dissolving or preventing a sticking of a valve () by causing the valve () to move to and fro so as to open and close the valve () by a predetermined moving amount respectively in one direction and the other direction near a full-close position of the valve (). The apparatus inhibits the sticking avoiding operation by the actuator () when an ignition OFF operation is carried out without starting an operation of the engine () after an ignition ON operation is carried out. As a result, it is possible to prevent a useless valve opening and closing motion and achieve power saving.

Valve control apparatus of internal combustion engine

A control apparatus and method for an automatic transmission that prevents incorrect determination of the start of a gear change inertia phase caused by bounding of an input shaft speed, and that prevents delay of the detection of the start of the inertia phase. A working fluid pressure of the frictional element is feedback-controlled in an inertia phase of a gear change transition of a speed-changing gear mechanism, wherein the input shaft speed of the mechanism changes along with an engaging operation of a frictional element of the mechanism. When it is determined that a starting point for the inertia phase control has been reached, inertia phase control is initiated. After a predetermined determination interval subsequently elapses, it is determined whether the inertia phase control should continue.

Control apparatus and method for automatic transmission

This is a process and apparatus for the preparation of fasciated spun yarns, which includes feeding separate single fibers formed by opening and drafting a continuous staple fiber bundle into a rotor (20), collecting and holding the single fibers on a fiber-collecting portion of the rotor (20) and taking out the collected fibers through a center piece (26) by delivery rollers (33) while strongly false-twisting the collected fibers in the same direction as that of true twists given by the rotor (20) into a twisted yarn by a false-twisting apparatus arranged between the rotor (20) and the delivery rollers (33), wherein the separated single fibers are supplied to a travelling plane for the twisted yarn between the fiber-collecting portion of the rotor (20) and the center piece (26) to entangle some of the single fibers with the twisted yarn in the strongly false-twisted state, and the entangled single fibers are entwined around the periphery of the twisted yarn by subsequent release of the false twists of the twisted yarn.
