Provided is a bone regeneration agent comprising an inactivated cell construct derived from stem cells as a source material, the inactivated cell construct at least containing a mineral and an extracellular matrix. The bone regeneration agent has osteoconductive and osteoinductive abilities, and is inexpensively producible and size-controllable. Also provided is a method comprising the steps of: (1) inducing differentiation of stem cells into mineral-producing cells in agitated culture under the condition of 0.01 to 1.00 Hz to give a cell aggregate at least containing a mineral and an extracellular matrix, or (1') inducing differentiation of stem cells genetically engineered to overexpress a protein associated with bone formation into mineral-producing cells in agitated or static culture, to give a cell aggregate at least containing a mineral and an extracellular matrix, and(2) inactivating the cell aggregate obtained in the preceding step. The method enables easy production of the above-mentioned bone regeneration agent.

Bone regeneration agent

The object of the invention is to provide a technique of suppressing tumorigenesis in IPS cells and inducing differentiation into target differentiated cells. In use of a statin and a differentiation inducer, iPS cells are differentiated into target differentiated cells, whereby iPS cells can be differentiated into differentiated cells in which tumorigenesis is suppressed.

Method for inducing differentiation enabling tumorigenesis of IPS cells to be suppressed

A main object of the present invention is to provide a technique to produce iPS cells with less burden on the patient and with high establishment efficiency. iPS cells can be efficiently produced with significantly improved establishment efficiency by selecting cells derived from oral mucosa and introducing, into the cells, reprogramming factors capable of inducing the cells into pluripotent stem cells.

Method for efficient production of induced pluripotent stem cells utilizing cells derived from oral mucosa

It is found that a SVVYGLR peptide (SEQ ID NO: 1) can promote proliferation of mesenchymal cells such as marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells and dental pulp cells. A carbonate apatite-collagen sponge containing the SVVYGLR peptide (SEQ ID NO: 1) is useful as a biomaterial for the regeneration of bone marrow or dental pulp. It becomes possible to provide a skeletal system biomaterial which is capable of promoting the proliferation of the mesenchymal cells and is useful as artificial bone marrow or artificial dental pulp for repairing a defect in a bone marrow tissue or a dental pulp tissue.
