The present invention is directed to a vibration generating device used for mobile telephone, etc., which comprises a rotor (), and a stator () for rotatably supporting the rotor, and serving to rotate the rotor to thereby generate vibration. The rotor comprises a bearing sleeve () consisting of resin molded material and rotatably attached to a fixed shaft () provided at the stator, a magnet () and a weight () positioned in eccentric state with respect to the bearing sleeve, wherein the bearing sleeve and the magnet are formed in the state where they are integrated by material resin of the bearing sleeve. The stator comprises, in addition to the fixed shaft, a bottom plate (), a cover plate () and a coil () disposed in a manner opposite to the magnet, whereby the coil is energized so that the rotor is rotated, and the bearing sleeve is rotated in the state in contact with the bottom plate or the cover plate by attractive force exerted between the magnet and the bottom plate or the cover plate.

Vibration-generating device and electronic apparatus using the same

There is provided a vibration generator () in which a rotor with an unbalancer is rotated. The vibration generator includes a bottom plate () having a flat coil substrate () installed thereto, a stationary shaft () provided perpendicularly to the bottom plate, a magnet () installed on the stationary shaft () with a freely rotatable bearing being disposed between them and opposite to the surface of the flat coil substrate () with a slight clearance defined between them, and a weight () installed to the magnet (). For generating a vibration, a current is supplied to the coil on the flat coil substrate () to rotate the magnet () and weight (). The bottom plate () is formed from a nonmagnetic material. A thin magnetic plate () is installed at the side opposite to the magnet () with the bottom plate () being placed between the thin magnetic plate () and magnet ().

Vibration generator and electronic apparatus

In a planar linear pulse motor, the relative movement between the stator and the armature is positively restricted when no electric current is supplied to the drive coils by means of a lock member provided on either the armature or the stator. This lock member is attracted to a permanent magnet by its biasing magentic flux so as to be brought into contact with whichever of the armature or stator does not have the lock member on it. As a result, the armature may be locked up without consuming any electric power. If the lock member is attached to the stator or armature by means of an elastic member, the vertical dimension of the member attaching the lock member to the stator or armature can be reduced. Furthermore, the mechanical strength and the security of the engagement of the lock member to the stator or armature can be increased. As a result, the planar linear pulse motor disclosed is compact and highly reliable. In those cases when the lock member is mounted on the stator, there is no increase in the moving mass of the motor, resulting in no impairment of the rate of response of the pulse motor.
