A printing apparatus includes a rotary drum that is provided with a cylindrical body, a rotary shaft, and arm portions, an ejecting unit, a first cooling fan that uses a section formed in the circumferential direction between the arm portions as a passageway of air and that supplies the air, and a first air guide member that is retrofitted to the passageway of the air. The first air guide member is provided with a number a of first guides, a being an integer of 2 or more. The number a of the first guides are configured to guide the air from the first cooling fan to regions that are different positions of the inner surface of the cylindrical body and that are obtained by dividing up the inner surface of the cylindrical body by the number a in the direction along the rotary shaft.

Printing apparatus

An auxiliary member is an auxiliary member that assists in mounting a roll body, which is formed by winding a sheet into a roll shape on a core tube, onto a shaft of a printing apparatus. The auxiliary member includes a cylindrical main body insertable into the core tube, a laser irradiation unit that irradiates laser light from a leading end surface of the main body, and a switch that switches between irradiation and stopping of the laser light from the laser irradiation unit.

Provided is a check valve including: a duckbill valve; and a support member which is inserted into an inside portion of the duckbill valve, in which the duckbill valve includes a slit which is provided on a side where fluid is discharged, an inflow port which is provided on a side where the fluid flows in, and a flow path which connects the inflow port to the slit, and in which the support member is inserted into the flow path from the inflow port, a hole for sending the fluid to the slit when flowing in from the inflow port is provided, and the hole is provided so as to be hermetically sealed by the duckbill valve when a negative pressure is applied from the inflow port side.

A cleaning liquid supplying apparatus includes a first storage section, a pressure-accumulating second storage section, a plurality of cleaning liquid ejecting sections, a liquid sending section, a plurality of individual flow channel opening/closing sections, and a control section. The first storage section stores cleaning liquid. The cleaning liquid ejecting sections are connected to the second storage section via a plurality of individual flow channels having upstream ends located at positions where the upstream ends are open to a liquid reservoir when a predetermined amount of the cleaning liquid is stored in the second storage section. The liquid sending section is provided midway along a first flow channel and sends the cleaning liquid in the first storage section to the second storage section. The individual flow channel opening/closing sections open/close the respective individual flow channels. The control section controls the liquid sending section so that a pressure in an air reservoir becomes a predetermined pressure.

The object is to provide a technique whereby a non-operating nozzle can be detected with higher accuracy. The present invention resides in a printer for printing images by ejecting ink droplets from a plurality of nozzles, wherein an optical path in which light from a light-emitting element for emitting light is focused by a first focusing element , allowed to pass through a focusing aperture that is substantially circular and smaller than the area illuminate by the light, and transmitted through the focusing aperture to a light-receiving element for receiving light is laid out according to a configuration in which an intersection is formed with the path described by the ink droplets ejected by the nozzles. The light-emitting element is energized and caused to emit light. The nozzles are actuated and ink droplets are ejected in the direction of a space in which the intensity of light is greater than a prescribed level and which is part of the optical path between the focusing aperture and the light-receiving element . A non-operating nozzle is then detected based on the fact that the light received by the light-receiving element is blocked by the ink droplets thus ejected.

Data is printed on a recording sheet by heating the recording sheet at a pre-printing heating region of a heat roller 20, and the recording sheet is further heated at a post-printing heating and fusing region to thereby be dried and fused. In the meantime, air introduced from an exhaust fan 50 is blown into a data writing section from bottom up in the same direction as a recording sheet feeding direction, so that not only the vapor generated from the recording sheet during the heating and the vapor generated from the ink during the printing are eliminated, but also a recording head 40 is cooled.

Ink jet recording apparatus

An embodiment of the present invention is a microcapsule image printer/copier system, having a mechanism for transporting microcapsule film medium, a heater for raising the temperature of the film medium to an image developing temperature, and a pair of transfer rollers for simultaneously applying both heat and pressure sufficient to transfer a developed image from the film medium to a transfer medium. First and second rollers deliver pressure and heat in a pinching contact with both film and transfer mediums. The heater is within a tube section of the first roller and is operated such that developing temperature and transfer pressure heat are substantially the same, thus eliminating wrinkles.
