A method for manufacturing a functional film includes steps of: feeding a support continuously from a first film roll, forming a coating film on the support, providing a laminate film on a surface of the coating film, and taking up the support to a second film roll; and loading the second film roll made by the aforementioned step in a vacuum film-forming apparatus, feeding the support provided with the laminate film continuously from the film roll, peeling off the laminate film, forming an inorganic film on the coating film on the support, and taking up the support to a third film roll.

A dye fixing element for use in an image formation system which is adapted to superimpose a light-sensitive element and a dye fixing element provided on separate supports upon each other so that diffusible dyes are transferred to said dye fixing element to form an image, which is characterized in that a matting agent is incorporated in either a layer nearer to said support than a dye fixing layer in said dye fixing element or a layer provided between said dye fixing layer and a surface protective layer. The dye fixing element can be used to provide a good matte image that satisfies the requirements for matte surface, i.e., low gloss, texture that prevents the image from being seen white, difficulty for white spot in occurring on the transferred image, and surface condition that gives no glare.

A heat-developable color light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least three silver halide emulsion layers each sensitive to a different spectral wavelength region, one silver halide emulsion layer or a light-insensitive layer adjacent thereto containing a yellow dye-providing compound, a second silver halide emulsion layer or a light-insensitive layer adjacent thereto containing a magenta dye-providing compound and a third silver halide emulsion layer or a light-insensitive layer adjacent thereto containing a cyan dye-providing compound; at least one of said silver halide emulsion layers having a maximum spectral sensitivity at a wavelength of at least 700 nm and a spectral sensitivity at a wavelength 20 nm longer than said maximum spectral sensitivity wavelength of at most 1/10 of said maximum spectral sensitivity. A heat-developable color light-sensitive material with such spectral sensitivity characteristics in at least one silver halide emulsion layer provides superior color separation from other layers having a sensitivity in the infrared region.

A dye diffusion transfer type heat developable color light-sensitive material is described including a support having thereon at least three light-sensitive layers containing, in combination, silver halide emulsions which are sensitive in different spectral regions from one another and dye providing compounds capable of releasing or forming diffusible dyes having different hues from one another, wherein the material has an exposure side which is subjected to incident light from a light source, wherein at least two layers of the at least three light-sensitive layers include a first light-sensitive layer containing an emulsion spectrally sensitized to a part of infrared rays and a second light-sensitive layer which is positioned on the exposure side nearer to the light source than is the first light-sensitive layer and contains an emulsion spectrally sensitized to a part of infrared rays having a wavelength shorter than that of the infrared rays applied to the emulsion of the first light-sensitive layer, and the first light-sensitive layer contains a non-transferring filter dye which absorbs at least a part of light to which the second light-sensitive layer is exposed, and wherein the light-sensitive layer or layers other than the first and second light-sensitive layers can be arranged in any order.
