An ink jet head, includes: an actuator including a plurality of terminals; a wiring material including a base made of a flexible resin film on which a plurality of lands are arranged in arrays corresponding to the plurality of terminals, the wiring material of which one end is superimposed on a surface of the actuator, and which is extended in a direction parallel to the surface of the actuator; and a drive circuit for driving the actuator, wherein: the wiring material includes a small width portion, of which a width in a direction, perpendicular to an extended direction is smaller than that of the one end superimposed on the actuator, arranged on an extended portion; and the drive circuit is mounted on the extended portion; and wiring patterns are formed on the wiring material, for connecting the drive circuit and the plurality of lands.

Ink jet head and head unit

An ink jet printer includes a print head having ink nozzles, which is movable in a direction across the feeding path. A supply mechanism is provided at one side of the feeding path, which supplies ink to the print head located in the ink supply station. A maintenance mechanism is provided at the other side of the feeding path, which operates a predetermined operation. The ink jet printer is further provided with a first clutch which transmits the rotation of the actuator to the supply mechanism only when the print head is located in the above-mentioned one side, and a second clutch which transmits the rotation of the actuator to the maintenance mechanism only when the print head is located in the above-mentioned the other side. With this, the supply mechanism and the maintenance mechanism are actuated by a common actuator.

Ink jet printer

The discharging sections for the respective colors are arranged on the ink case at an interval P in the main scanning direction. On the carriage, the melting hoppers for the respective colors are arranged at an interval T in the main scanning direction. The carriage is also provided with the hook abutting protrusions for the respective colors. The hook abutting protrusions are arranged at an interval R in the main scanning direction. On the pellet dispensing mechanism, the hooks for the respective colors are arranged at an interval L in the main scanning direction. The value L is greater than the value R. The carriage is scanningly movable in the main scanning direction. The carriage is moved in the direction B or C to be stopped at an appropriate position with respect to the ink case and the pellet dispensing mechanism. When all the hooks are moved, only a selected one hook slides against a corresponding hook abutting protrusion, and pivots. As a result, one pressing body, which is located above a selected discharging section, is pivoted to downwardly press one ink pellet to a corresponding hopper.

Ink supply device

An ink jet recorder includes a recording head, a carriage for reciprocating the head, a sheet conveying roller, a motor for driving the roller, a maintenance mechanism and an ink supply mechanism. The driving force from the motor can be transmitted through a first clutch to the maintenance mechanism, and through a second clutch to the ink supply mechanism. One of the clutches is connected to a turn lever, and the other is connected to a shift lever. Each of the clutches can be switched mechanically by the carriage engaging with the associated lever. The single motive power source can drive a plurality of mechanisms. There is no need of a special switch for changing over the source.

Ink jet recorder

An ink pellet formed of solid hot melt ink is movably stored in an accommodating channel section of an ink supplying system relative to a tank section so as to provide a predetermined amount of hot melt ink to the tank section. The ink pellet has an upper portion having a lateral width greater than a channel width of the accommodating channel section, and a pellet main body forming step portions at sides of a lower surface of the upper portion, having a lateral width smaller than the channel width of the accommodating channel section, and having a height smaller than a channel height of the accommodating channel section.

A printing device including a printing head having a plurality of printing elements arranged in first and second rows and in a staggered manner; first printing control means for allocating print data to some of the printing elements in the first row spaced at regular intervals, in each of the intervals one or more of the printing elements being located, and for allocating the print data also to some of the printing elements in the second row spaced at regular intervals, in each of the intervals one or more of the printing elements being located, wherein any one of the printing elements allocated in the second row is located at a position intermediate of the adjacent ones of the printing elements allocated in the first row, whereby low-density printing is effected by the printing elements allocated by the first printing control means; second printing control means for allocating the print data to all of the printing elements in the first and second rows, whereby high-density printing is effected by the printing elements allocated by the second printing control means; and selecting means for selecting either of the first printing control means or the second printing control means.
