An electronic device detects whether a warning status has occurred and if the warning status is not released within a predetermined time, warning information is transmitted to a registered device. If the warning status is not released in spite of transmitting the warning information and if the user is not near the device, warning information is transmitted to one or more hand-held terminals in an external network according to predetermined order. If the warning status is released within a predetermined time having elapsed from the transmission of the warning information to the hand-held terminal, warning released information indicating that the warning status has been released is transmitted to the hand-held terminal.

A transmission station performs carrier sense for a predetermined time and sends a request to send (RTS) signal to the partner station. The apparatus records, as the index signal, first index information in a first section within the second area of each of the predetermined number of continuous tracks, with either one of binary data being repeated continuously during a period corresponding to the first section, and second index information in a second section within the second area of each of the predetermined number of continuous tracks, the second index information including track data indicative of relation to a specific track among the predetermined number of continuous tracks. In the above-described arrangement, it is possible to increase the speed of search for a specific track by using the first index information and to improve the accuracy of search for the specific track by using the second index information.

An elastically deformable contact is held by a holder secured to the rotor core, and includes a plurality of conductive portions, each conducting electricity between opposed faces of the elastically deformable contact, and a cutout defined in a middle portion thereof. The elastically deformable contact is pressed from opposed sides between a conductive pattern connected to the magnetic head and a conductive pattern connected to the rotor core so that it can be brought into pressure contact with both of the conductive patterns, thereby providing electrical conduction between the head and the rotor core.
