A glass breakage detecting sensor includes a strain detecting portion by which breakage of a window glass, which is provided at a door of a vehicle, is detected based on changes of an amount of strain, and an attaching portion attached to at least one of an opening and closing mechanism, which freely movably supports the window glass, and an inner panel to which the opening and closing mechanism is arranged within the door, the opening and closing mechanism and the inner panel functioning as an attached portion.

A sunroof device is made up of a pair of guide rails placed at laterally opposed inner peripheries of an open area of a vehicle. The pair of guide rails support a movable panel covering and uncovering the open area. A first gutter portion extends along a lengthwise direction of the guide rail. A second gutter portion is positioned below the first gutter portion and is brought into fluid communication with an end of the first gutter portion, characterized in that the second gutter portion is formed with an upstanding wall located at a distance from the end of the first gutter portion when the second gutter portion is brought into an overlap condition in such a manner that the upstanding wall defines an area of the second gutter portion to be overlapped with the first gutter portion. A sun-roof device for use in a vehicle having a roof includes an opening portion formed in the roof and having a pair of parallel spaced side peripheries each of which extends in a lengthwise direction of the vehicle and a front periphery extending in a width direction of the vehicle, a pair of parallel spaced guide rails extending along the pair of side peripheries of the opening portion, respectively, a front frame extending along the front periphery of the opening portion, a movable panel for opening and closing the opening portion, a pair of sliding members for moving the movable panel which are located in the pair of guide rails, respectively, a guide plate fixed to a lower face of the front frame and forming a pair of passages connected to front ends of the pair of guide rails together with the lower face of the front frame, a pair of cables in the pair of passages, respectively and connected to the pair of sliding members, respectively, and a driving member for driving the cables in opposite directions.

A sunroof device for a vehicle includes a guide rail fixed on a roof panel of the vehicle, a movable panel for opening and closing an opening disposed on the roof panel and which is mounted on the guide rail through a link mechanism, wherein the link mechanism includes a lift link connected with one of the guide rail and the movable panel and a guide link connected with the other one of the guide rail and the movable panel, and wherein the guide link includes a first guide groove and a second guide groove both of which are disposed on a side thereof which is opposite to the lift links and the first guide groove and the second guide groove are at different depths from each other in the guide link, and wherein the lift link includes a first guide pin and a second guide pin both of which are projected on a side thereof which is opposite to the guide link, and each of the first guide pin and the second guide pin is engaged with the first guide groove and the second guide groove respectively and the first guide pin and the second guide pin have different lengths corresponding to the difference in depth between the first guide groove and the second guide groove.

A panel moving mechanism for a sunshine roof of the type in which the rear end of a panel for closing an opening of the roof of a vehicle is raised and lowered. The mechanism includes a shoe and an arm which are pivotally connected. A pair of pins protrude from the arm and are inserted into respective guide grooves provided in a guide block and a bracket connected to the panel. The longitudinal axes of these guide grooves are bent at the middle sections thereof and are arranged in such a manner that they are not parallel. When the shoe moves toward the front end of the vehicle, the arm is gradually brought to a raised position, thereby raising the rear end of the panel. When the shoe moves toward the rear end of the vehicle, the arm is gradually brought to a horizontal position, thereby lowering the rear end of the panel.

A sliding type sunroof has a pair of rails, a front shoe slidably retained in each rail, and a sunroof panel supported by the front shoe and slidable together with the front shoe for opening the roof of an automobile. A lift down device for the sunroof includes a bracket pivotally connected to the front shoe at a pivot point and having the sunroof panel secured thereto, the sunroof panel being lifted down and placed in a slidable state by turning the bracket about the pivot point.
