A presser foot position retainer includes a presser foot and a restricting member. The presser foot is swingably attachable to a presser holder of a sewing machine. The presser foot includes a shaft extending in an axial direction, a restricted portion, and a pressing surface configured to press a workpiece. The restricting member includes a restricting portion capable of contacting the restricted portion. The restricting member is attachable to the presser holder. The restricting member is configured to move between a first position and a second position by a user operation. When the restricting member is located at the second position, the restricting portion is in contact with the restricted portion to limit a swingable range within which the presser foot attached to the presser holder is swingable about the shaft to less than that when the restricting member is located at the first position.

A presser device includes an attachment body, an adjustment member, and a presser body. The attachment body includes an attachment portion and a shaft. The attachment portion is attached to a presser bar included in a sewing machine and extending in a first direction. The shaft extends in a second direction that intersects the first direction. The adjustment member is configured to be screwed together with one end of the shaft and to rotate with respect to the shaft around a rotation axis extending in the second direction. The presser body includes an insertion hole and an insertion portion, the insertion hole penetrating in the first direction. The insertion portion is configured such that the shaft is inserted therethrough. The presser body is configured to move in the second direction with respect to the attachment body along the shaft in accordance with the rotation of the adjustment member.

An embroidery frame includes a first frame and a second frame. The second frame holds an object to be sewn with the first frame. The second frame includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a plurality of magnets and an annular portion. The annular portion is made of magnetic material. The first member is able to be switched to one of a first position and a second position. The second member includes a plurality of plate members. The plurality of plate members are made of magnetic material. The first position is a position where some of the plurality of magnets faces the gap and a portion of two of the plate members that are adjacent across the gap. The second position is a position where some of the plurality of magnets faces a corresponding one of the plurality of plate members.

A processing apparatus for performing not only cutting and drawing, but also other processing, and a cartridge used for the processing apparatus are provided. The processing apparatus includes a first cartridge including: a first processing tool to form a machining mark by grinding or cutting a surface of a sheet-like object; an actuator to operate by an external power supply and drive the first processing tool; and a first housing to accommodate the first processing tool where a tip of the first processing tool is exposed and accommodate the actuator. The processing apparatus also includes a carriage including a mounting section which the first cartridge is detachably mounted; a transfer mechanism to move the object and the carriage relatively to each other; and a control circuit to control driving of the transfer mechanism to form the machining mark on the surface of the object by the first processing tool.

A sewing machine includes a first thread spool base having a first thread spool pin and a first guide member, and a second thread spool base having a second thread spool pin and a second guide member. The first thread spool pin is inserted into a through hole of a thread spool. The first guide member has a first thread guard portion that guides a needle thread delivered from a thread spool mounted on the first thread spool base to the sewing machine. The second thread spool base can be attached to and removed from the first thread spool base. The second thread spool pin is inserted into a through hole of the thread spool. The second guide member has a second thread guard portion that guides a needle thread delivered from the thread spool mounted on the second thread spool base to the sewing machine.

A holding member includes a base, a transparent sheet, first, second and third signs. The base has an adhesive part on which a sheet-shaped object is removably placed. The sheet holds the object between the base and itself. The first sign indicates a type of the holding member. The second sign indicates that the sheet is located at a closed position. The second sign on the sheet and the first and third signs on the base are located at a front part of the base with respect to an insertion direction of the holding member when the sheet is located at a closed position. The first to third signs are located between a front end of the adhesive part and a front end of the base with respect to the insertion direction when the sheet is located at the closed position.
