An antenna includes a dielectric substrate, a ground element, a feed element, a microstrip line, and a feed point. The ground element is disposed on a first surface of the dielectric substrate. The ground element includes a slit. The feed element is disposed on a second surface of the dielectric substrate. The microstrip line extends from the feed element toward the slit. The feed point is disposed on the second surface of the dielectric substrate, and connected to the feed element via the microstrip line. The feed point is positioned between the feed element and the slit, and disposed at an end of the microstrip line.

Antenna

There is provided an antenna element capable of implementing miniaturization, acquisition of a high gain, and broadening of a band and coping with multiple bands. Antenna element and portable radio

There are provided an antenna element and a portable radio that enable miniaturization, acquisition of a high gain, and broadening of a band and that copies compatible with multiple bands. A rectangular-parallelepiped-shaped antenna element is formed by folding two or more faces of a board-shaped monopole element having an rectangular shape so that the antenna element has a substantially rectangular first conductor platedisposed in proximity to a hingewhile arranged at a predetermined space S from a lower circuit board (ground plate), a substantially rectangular second conductor platethat shares a widthwise one side of the first conductor plateand that is arranged while bent to an angle of about 90&#xb0; with respect to the first conductor plate, and a substantially rectangular third conductor platethat shares another widthwise side of the second conductor plateopposing the side shared by the first conductor plateand the second conductor plateand that is arranged at an angle of about 90&#xb0; so as to oppose the first conductor plate

There is provided a mobile wireless device capable of preventing antenna characteristics from degrading by feeding electric power at a position hardly affected by a human body such as a hand or other body part. In the mobile wireless device, a first circuit board () is provided on a first chassis () and has a ground layer; a second circuit board () is provided on a second chassis () and has a ground layer. A ground terminal of a wireless portion () is connected to the ground layer of the first circuit board () at the same voltage level and is also electrically connected through the wireless portion () to a matching circuit (). The ground layer of the second circuit board () is electrically connected to a hinge conducting portion () by electrostatic capacitance coupling. The hinge conducting portion () is connected through a third conduction portion () to a board connection portion () and feeds power to the wireless portion through the matching circuit (). This enables the ground layer of the first circuit board (), the third conduction portion (), the hinge conducting portion (), and the ground layer of the second circuit board () to function as an antenna resonating at a predetermined resonant frequency.

Mobile wireless device

A challenge to be met by the present invention is to provide a radio communication apparatus that enables prevention of a drop in antenna gain, which would otherwise arise when an apparatus main body is placed on a metal plate, such as a metallic desk, at low cost. A second antenna element () is placed at such a position where resonance arises at a frequency band of a first antenna element () and connected to a ground pattern of a circuit board () by way of an antenna grounding unit () connected exclusively to a radio system unit (). Further, a reactance unit () of the antenna grounding unit () performs regulation such that the second antenna element () is electromagnetically coupled with the metal plate, to thus cause resonance at a predetermined frequency, when the apparatus main body is placed on the metal plate and that the resonance frequency becomes a frequency band of the first antenna element (). When the apparatus main body is placed on the metal plate while a radio signal is being transmitted at the frequency band of the first antenna element (), the second antenna element () can thereby be used as a passive element, so that occurrence of a drop in gain of the first antenna element () can be prevented.

Radio communication apparatus

Provided is a portable communication device, specifically a portable wireless device which is thin while maintaining excellent reception sensitivity even when the device is laid on a metal top panel. As such device (), a foldable portable cellular phone () is provided with a battery box () opened on the side of a rear surface (), and a circuit board () having an antenna power feed point () is arranged inside a lower case (). The battery box () is covered with a battery cover section () removably attached to the lower case (). The battery cover section () is formed of a member having conductivity, and attached to the lower case () by having contact point members () in between for carrying a current to a reinforcing conductive plate () which is to be a GND layer of the circuit board (). The battery cover section () attached to the lower case () is electrically connected to the reinforcing conductive plate () by making the battery cover section abut to contact point members ().

Portable wireless device

A foldable portable radio device adapted to a plurality of frequency bands has a good antenna performance in all the use frequency bands even in both open and folded states. In the foldable portable radio device, a control section () controls switching means () to connect a sub-matching circuit () and a first circuit element () when a first use frequency band is used and further when the foldable portable radio device is in the open state and to connect the sub-matching circuit () and a second circuit element () when a first use frequency band is used and further when the foldable portable radio device is in the closed state, or when a second use frequency band is used irrespective of the open/closed state of the foldable portable radio device.

Portable and foldable radio terminal with multiple frequency antenna

A problem of the invention is to provide a small-size communication terminal apparatus capable of reducing an SAR and also widening a band of an antenna and further achieving thinning. The communication terminal apparatus has a substrate () disposed inside a housing, a power feeding part () disposed in the substrate (), a monopole antenna () having plural elements of multi-frequency sharing, the monopole antenna for feeding power by electrically connecting one end to the power feeding part, and a ground wire () electrically connected to a wireless ground of the substrate (), and the monopole antenna () having the plural elements is arranged in a direction vertical to a surface of the substrate () and in a back surface direction of the housing so as to be opposed to a human body at the time of a call.

Communication terminal apparatus

The present invention provides an antenna apparatus for a wireless unit, the antenna apparatus exhibiting a reduced specific absorption rate (SAR) without an additional component for reducing the SAR, which is the amount of energy of an electromagnetic wave absorbed by a human body. The antenna apparatus comprises a boardserving as a ground plate of an antenna, a first antenna elementtransmitting and receiving an electromagnetic wave in a first frequency band and provided on the boardthrough the first feeder, and a second antenna elementtransmitting and receiving an electromagnetic wave in a second frequency band and provided on the boardthrough the first feeder, wherein the total of an electrical length between the first and second feedersand, an electrical length of the first antenna element, and an electrical length of the second antenna elementis larger than a half wavelength of the first frequency band and equal to or smaller than one wavelength of the first frequency band.

Wireless unit antenna apparatus and mobile wireless unit
