A gel-like resin molded article contained in a volatilization control container is provided. A gelled drug containing allyl isothiocyanate and a resin base is contained in a container, and the container is provided with an opening portion which occupies a contact area between the gelled drug and air in the proportion of 0.01 to 50%. Alternatively, the container is made of a thermoplastic resin film whose permeability to allyl isothiocyanate is from 0.05 to 10 mg/cmday. The molded article controls the volatilization rate and volatilization time period of allyl isothiocyanate by gelling allyl isothiocyanate.

A microcapsule characterized by comprising a solid pesticide as a core material coated with a wall material which is a resin formed by polycondensation of a sparingly water-soluble melamine-formaldehyde resin type prepolymer (said sparingly water-soluble melamine-formaldehyde resin type prepolymer dissolves 2000 g or less of water therein per 100 g of solid component of the prepolymer at &plus;25&deg; C.) in the presence of a dispersant which is a condensation product of naphthalenesulfonic acid and/or alkylnaphthalenesulfonic acid and formaldehyde or a salt thereof, a method for producing said microcapsule, and a method for applying said microcapsule are disclosed.

This invention relates to novel oxyalkylated quaternary ammonium compounds, processes for their production and plant growth regulating compositions containing the same compounds. Each of these oxyalkylated quaternary ammonium compounds consists of an oxyalkylated quaternary ammonium cation and an anion selected from among carboxylic acid residues, aminosulfonic acid residues and phosphoric acid ester residues. These oxyalkylated quaternary ammonium compounds are least phytotoxic, produce marked growth regulating effects on a broad species of plants and are not easily decomposed by microorganisms.

This invention relates to a method of producing particulate polymers. This production method is characterized in that a mixture of an isocyanate compound containing two or more isocyanato groups per molecule and a surfactant containing two or more hydroxyl groups per molecule is emulsified and allowed to cure in a dispersing medium which does not dissolve the isocyanate compound without use of a protective colloid. According to the production method of the invention, there occurs no aggregation of polymer particles during and after the curing reaction.

A water-soluble film or sheet made of a polyoxyalkylene compound having an average molecular weight of at least 50,000 produced by linking chains of a polyether having an average molecular weight of at least 3,000 and an oxyethylene unit content of at least 70% by weight with each other through ester linkages by reaction of the polyether and a polycarboxylic acid, its anhydride or its lower alkyl ester. The film or sheet is also soluble in organic solvents and has properties comparable or superior to known water-soluble polymer films or sheets.

A process for preparing polyoxyalkylene high molecular weight compounds having an average molecular weight of more than 20,000 and being soluble in solvents and moldable by addition-polymerizing ethylene oxide alone or a mixture of alkylene oxides containing ethylene oxide to an organic compound having at least 2 active hydrogen groups to produce a polyhydroxyl compound having an average molecular weight of not less than 1,000, and esterifying the polyhydroxyl compound with a polycarboxylic acid, its anhydride or its lower alkyl ester.
