Face image recognition apparatus

When authentication data of a person O to be authenticated is registered as dictionary data, this authentication data of the person to be authenticated is acquired and collated with the registered dictionary data. In accordance with the collation result, the dictionary data is updated.

Person recognition apparatus

A face image recognition apparatus includes a registration information holding section in which a reference feature amount of the face of at least one to-be-recognized person is previously registered, the feature amount of the face is extracted from a face image input via an image input section by use of feature amount extracting section, a recognition section determines the recognition rate between the extracted feature amount and the reference feature amount registered in the registration information holding section, and a feature amount adding section additionally registers the feature amount extracted by the feature amount extracting section as a new reference feature amount into the registration information holding section when it is determined that the determined recognition rate is lower than a preset value.

A first illumination section radiates light at a certain degree of illuminance toward the face of a human recognition object from an upper right part or an upper left part of a camera, and a second illumination section radiates light at a certain degree of illuminance toward the face of the human recognition object from a lower part of a camera. The camera photographs and inputs a facial image of the human recognition object. The image processing section extracts a feature value of the face of the human recognition object from a facial image inputted by the camera and collates the feature value extracted with a standard feature value registered in advance so as to recognize a facial image of the human recognition object.

Facial image recognition apparatus

An area information storage section stores positional information on at least two target areas on the standard image of printed matter to be examined, the area of each of the target areas, their standard average densities, and the standard deviation of their density distribution. An average density computing section calculates the average density for each target area in the image data supplied from the image input section using positional information on each target area and its area supplied from the area information storage section. A density difference measuring means measures, target area by target area, the density difference between the average density and the standard average density supplied from the area information storage section. A density difference normalizing section normalizes the density difference and the standard deviation of the density distribution supplied from the area information storage section. On the basis of the added value of the normalized density difference for each of the target areas, a summing section judges the degree of stain on the printed matter to be examined.

Apparatus for examining the degree of stain on printed matter

A predetermined position on a paper sheet is pointed by a finger, and a first image of the paper sheet picked up by an image pickup device before pointing by the finger is stored. A second image of the paper sheet picked up by the image pickup device upon pointing by the finger is stored. By subtracting the first image from the second image, the pointed position on the paper sheet by the finger is detected. The meaning or content data of a term at the detected position is read out from a database, and is displayed.
