An organic compound represented by the following general formula [1] is excellent in thermal stability. In the general formula [1], Rto Rare each independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and a substituent. The first organic compound layer contains a first compound having at least a fullerene skeleton and a second compound having a fluoranthene skeleton.
