A liquid crystal display device has features that a plurality of flexible wiring substrates is connected in parallel to a first side of a liquid crystal display panel, and a plurality of flexible wiring substrates is connected in parallel to a second side opposite the first side, that on a first side of a mold, a first hole for accommodating the plurality of flexible wiring substrates is formed in a top surface of the mold at place corresponding to the first side of the liquid crystal display panel, and that on a second side of the mold that is opposite from the first side thereof, a second mold part is combined with the mold so that the mold and the second mold part jointly form a second hole for accommodating the plurality of flexible wiring substrates connected to the second side of the liquid crystal display panel.

A display device includes a display panel and a frame body that has a lower frame, a mold member, and an upper frame, wherein the upper frame has a box shape with one surface opened along a side wall surface and the other surface forming an opening part, the mold member includes a mounting part that mounts a peripheral part of the display panel and a catching part formed in correspondence with an end surface of the display panel, the catching part of the mold member includes a first catching part having a top part opposite to the mounting part in contact with an inner surface of the upper frame and a second catching part with a projection height from the mounting part lower than a projection height of the first catching part.

There is a need for decreasing a variation in times for writing to TFT elements for pixels in a direction along the extension of a gate line in a liquid crystal display apparatus. A display apparatus includes a display panel having multiple gate lines and drain lines arranged in a matrix and a data driver for outputting a display data signal to each drain line. The data driver includes: an internal control signal generation circuit generating an internal control signal for setting a timing to output a data signal to a drain line of each block on a block basis by dividing the plurality of drain lines into multiple blocks; and a register circuit for recording a setting for division of the block, a setting for delay direction and width of a timing to output the data signal, and a setting for rising and falling of an internal control signal.

Display apparatus

This invention provides a liquid crystal display device that makes it possible to ground the conductive film provided on the display side of the liquid crystal display panel without fail while making the frame narrower. The device has a liquid crystal display panel where a liquid crystal layer is provided between two facing substrates; a mold frame for holding the liquid crystal display panel in a predetermined position; a lower frame made of a metal for containing the mold frame; and first and second conductive members, and characterized in that a conductive film is formed on the display side of the liquid crystal display panel, the first conductive member is provided so as to make contact with the conductive film and an upper surface of the mold frame, and the second conductive member is provided so as to make contact with the first conductive member and the lower frame.

Liquid crystal display device having first and second conductive members

A display device includes a display panel, and a semiconductor chip having plural bump electrodes and mounted on a substrate constituting the display panel. The plural bump electrodes include a first bump electrode arranged in the vicinity of a center for a longitudinal direction of the semiconductor chip, and a second bump electrode arranged in the vicinity of an end portion in the longitudinal direction of the semiconductor chip. The semiconductor chip has one or more than one conductive layer inside. Assuming that a surface of the semiconductor chip having the bump electrodes formed thereon is a lower side, the number of the conductive layers formed on the second bump electrode is greater than the number of the conductive layers formed on the first bump electrode. The conductive layer formed on the first and the second bump electrode includes a dummy conductive layer. Further, the plural bump electrodes are electrically connected to a wiring layer formed on a substrate constituting the display panel through an anisotropic conductive film.

A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel and a drive circuit for supplying gray scale voltages to pixels in the liquid crystal display panel. The drive circuit selects intended gray scale voltage levels from a gray scale voltage varying with time periodically by determining a timing corresponding to the intended voltage level of the gray scale voltage based upon a display data signal and time control signals supplied to the drive circuit. A stabilizer circuit is provided to a gray scale voltage line for supplying the gray scale voltage.

A liquid crystal display device having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a plurality of video signal lines for supplying video signal voltages to the plurality of pixels, and a drive circuit which selects a voltage level of a gray scale voltage varying periodically as one of the video signal voltages corresponding to display data to be supplied to one of the plurality of pixels. The drive circuit has a plurality of series combinations of plural processing circuits, wherein each of the plurality of series combinations of plural processing circuits corresponds to one of the plurality of video signal lines, and each of the plural processing circuits comprises a parallel combination of a first switching element and a second switching element. The first and second switching elements are made operative or inoperative as a switch in accordance with different conditions.

Liquid crystal display device having a gray-scale voltage selector circuit

A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal display panel and a drive circuit for supplying gray scale voltages to pixels in the liquid crystal display panel. The drive circuit selects desired gray scale voltage levels from a gray scale voltage varying with time in a staircase fashion, in accordance with display data, and supplies the selected gray scale voltage levels to the pixels. The drive circuit includes a stabilizer circuit provided to a gray scale voltage line for supplying the gray scale voltage varying with time.

A liquid crystal display device has a circuit for selecting voltage levels based upon display data from an externally-supplied gray-scale voltage varying periodically. The circuit includes a plurality of series combinations of processing circuits. Each of the series combinations is associated with one of video signal lines coupled to pixels, and each of the processing circuits of a respective one of the plural series combinations is associated with a respective one of N display data lines for supplying the display data and with a respective one of plural time control signal lines for supplying time control signals varying in synchronism with the gray-scale voltage. Each of the processing circuits is disposed between two adjacent ones of the N display data lines. The time control signals uniquely determine one level of the gray-scale voltage in combination with the time control signals.
