A four cycle internal combustion engine including a secondary intake system. The secondary intake system includes a pumping diaphragm actuated by pressure variation within the engine crankcase. The pumping diaphragm is in turn connected to the intake passage through a secondary intake passage to receive and expel air/fuel mixture toward the intake valving at appropriate intervals. A control valve control communication between the crankcase and the pumping diaphragm to restrict or allow actuation of the pumping diaphragm. An outlet also extends from the system to vent the crankcase at appropriate intervals.

Secondary intake device

Intake device for multiple cylinder I.C. engine, the intake opening of the carburetor for each cylinder being connected with a carburetor base connected to an air cleaner in chamber form. The chamber intake openings for each carburetor are separated by partition plates.

Intake device for internal combustion engine

An improved intake system for an internal combustion engine is disclosed which includes a combustion chamber, an intake passage and an exhaust passage opening to the combustion chamber, and an intake valve and an exhaust valve disposed in the intake and exhaust passages for opening and closing thereof. The system is featurized by provision of one or more control passage(s) opening to the intake passage in the vicinity of the intake valve, and a supply chamber of a predetermined volume which is in communication with the control passage(s). The system is particularly effective in improving the intake efficiency in small-sized, four stroke cycle engines.

Intake system of an internal combustion engine

An internal system for use in an internal combustion engine which includes a carburetor, a throttle valve and a check valve. A supplemental chamber is connected to an intake passage adapted to introduce therethrough air-fuel mixture from the throttle valve to a combustion chamber. The supplemental chamber is in communication with the intake passage at a position between the throttle valve and the check valve. The supplemental chamber is provided with an opening directed tangentially with respect to an inner cylindrical periphery of the intake passage. In another embodiment of the invention, a control passage is formed in communication between the supplemental chamber and the intake passage. A downstream end of the control passage is opened at a position adjacent to an initially opening position of the check valve.
