In an apparatus having a display for supplying parameters to a mixing system, a first display control section controls the display to present a scene list containing identifications of each scene and configuration data of the mixing system specified by first specification data contained in each scene. A scene selection acceptance section accepts selection of a scene from the scene list presented on the display. A second display control section controls the display to present operation data of the mixing system specified by second specification data contained in the selected scene, such that the display presents each portion of the operation data. Each portion contains one option of the operation data specified by the second specification data in manner distinguishable from another option not specified by the second specification data.

Parameter supply apparatus for audio mixing system

A plurality of amplifiers and PCs each having installed therein remote controlling software for controlling the amplifiers are connected to a network. Data stored in a memory of each of the amplifiers include a device ID, operation data and an area ID. Memory of each of the PCs stores therein a project file each including area IDs, device information and device IDs. When a PC connected to a mixer engine functions as an editing device to edit a configuration of signal processing in the mixer engine, components and wires included in the edited configuration of signal processing are displayed within a CAD screen on a display of the PC, and a delay amount occurring in processing corresponding to each of the components and wires when the mixer engine executes the signal processing is displayed in correspondence with each of the components and wires on the CAD screen. In this case, the delay amount corresponding to each wire is a value determined according to a result of assignment in which signal processing corresponding to each component is assigned to a plurality of signal processors in the mixer engine.

In a PC that controls a mixer engine having a programmable DSP, any object such as a knob or the like is enabled to be duplicated from a control screen corresponding to various signal processing components and disposed at any position on a user control screen to make it possible to use the user control screen as a control screen editable by a user. When an object such as a knob is designated in the user control screen and a predetermined direction is issued, a menu is displayed on a display. Then, when 'Open Original' is selected from the menu, it is understood that display of the control screen including an original of the designated object is directed, and the control screen is displayed on the display.

A signal routing apparatus is designed for setting a signal route among a plurality of components of a signal processing system by means of graphic user interface. In the signal processing apparatus, a display part displays a plurality of components each having at least one terminal for connection. An operator part is operated to select at least one terminal of one component on the display part and to input an instruction for connection. A detection part responds to the instruction for detecting at least one terminal of another component, which can be connectable to the selected terminal. A connection part automatically connects the selected terminal of one component and the detected terminal of another component with one another so that a line is drawn on the display part between the selected terminal and the detected terminal, thereby setting the signal route among the components in the form of lines drawn between the terminals of the components on the display part.

In a mixer system including: a plurality of mixer engines each provided with a programmable DSP; and a PC controlling operations of the respective mixer engines, the PC stores, as zone data, a plurality of configuration data each indicating a configuration of signal processing to be executed by one mixer engine or more out of the mixer engines under the control of the PC, accepts the selection of the zone data, and when the necessary mixer engines are in a controllable state, transfers data on a part of the aforesaid configuration which is to be assigned to each of the mixer engines, to the corresponding mixer engines. Then, when the selection of the configuration is accepted, each of the mixer engines to which the configuration is transferred is caused to execute the audio signal processing according to the selected configuration.

An electronic music apparatus has a tone generator settable by setting information to generate a music tone signal and an open memory area accessible for storing identification information of the electronic music apparatus and setting information specific to the electronic music apparatus. The electronic music apparatus reads out the identification information from the open memory area and sends the read identification information to an editing apparatus, and receives setting information from the editing apparatus and writes the received setting information into the open memory area. Further, when the setting information is written into the open memory area, the written setting information is applied to the tone generator. The editing apparatus has a storage for storing the edited setting information in association with the identification information of each electronic music apparatus. The editing apparatus receives the identification information sent from the electronic music apparatus, identifies the electronic music apparatus which sends the identification information, locates the setting information stored in the storage in association with the received identification information, and sends the located setting information to the identified electronic music apparatus.

Performance data processing apparatus includes a memory for storing settings input by a user and a processor for performing various control in accordance with the settings stored in the memory. Performance data are displayed in one or more display forms desired by the user. Marker or repeat mark is displayed in response to an instruction for displaying the marker or repeat mark. The performance data are reproduced in accordance with the input mark indicating that a performance should be repeated within a predetermined range. Further, a chord name is converted in accordance with a designated type of transposing instrument, and the converted chord name is displayed or stored in memory. Because the various control is performed in accordance with the memory-stored user settings, the user is allowed to change convenience-of-use or operability of the performance data processing apparatus in creating/editing of the performance data, by just changing the settings.

Music performance data processing method and apparatus adapted to control a display

For installation of desired software, the software is first written into a memory, and then a user's selection is received which indicates whether or not the user agrees to contents of an agreement concerning the software. When the user has agreed to the contents of the agreement, the software written in the storage device is maintained as it is, and in this way, the intended installation of the software can be completed properly. When, on the other hand, the user has not agreed to the contents of the agreement, the written software is deleted from the memory and the intended installation is abandoned. Thus, whenever the user indicates his or her intention to agree to the contents of the agreement, the software has already been properly installed (except in very rare cases), so that the user is allowed to actually use the software with a maximized possibility of success without being deceived in his or her expectations. The display of the contents of the agreement and determination of the user's selection to agree or to not agree to the contents of the agreement may be performed only after ascertaining that the software written in the memory can be actually started up.

A music score with notes and signs in musical notation is displayed on the screen of a computer system using musical data representing events of notes and signs for a musical performance. The score is editable by moving a note from the exhibited position to another position on the screen. In case the moved note is connected with another note by a connective sign such as a slur, a slide, a bending (i.e. choking) and a hammering-on, the connective sign is also moved to the new position of the moved note. When the notes connected by the connective sign cannot be displayed on the same screen window, the connective sign is exhibited in a special fashion to indicate the associated connection. When the score is expressed in a tablature notation, appropriate modifications are employed to indicate correct manipulative operations for the instrument player.

The apparatus stores musical performance data of a polychord stringed musical instrument such as a guitar. A series of performance data on each of the plural strings are recorded on each of a plurality of recording tracks provided correspondingly to the plural strings, the recording data in combination constituting tablature data for exhibiting a tablature notation of the music on the stringed instrument in the display screen. The tablature notation includes a plurality of horizontal lines representing the plural strings and fret numbers at positions of the note generation on each string. According to such alteration of the fret number or the string, the note data in the corresponding track is altered into note data on the track corresponding to the same or the altered string, accordingly. The fret number can be rewritten by inputting another number using the ten-key switches.

An arrangement method is designed for arranging a target segment of music performance data by means of a template corresponding to an item of music notation to be applied to the target segment. The method is carried out by the steps of displaying music performance data on a monitor for designation of a target segment contained in the displayed music performance data and for selection of a specific item of the music notation to be applied to the target segment among various items of the music notation, retrieving a template corresponding to the specific item of the music notation among a group of various templates provisionally prepared in correspondence to the various items of the music notation, customizing the retrieved template to a pitch and a length of the target segment, and rewriting the target segment of the music performance data based on the customized template to thereby arrange the target segment according to the specific item of the music notation.

The apparatus and method composes performance information which represents a musical performance on a stringed instrument having a plurality of strings, each string being capable of generating a tone having a pitch which is selectively assigned to each string from among plural pitches available on each string. Upon designation of a chord to be played, the pitches of tones to be respectively assigned to the plurality of strings are determined such that the tones of the determined pitches constitute the designated chord. Then the strings to be assigned for tone generation are designated from among the plurality of strings, and the timing at which the assigned tone is to be generated is designated for each of the designated strings. The data of the tones having the determined pitches are generated, in which the data of each tone represents the tone generation on the designated string and at the designated timing. The designation of the strings and the timings for tone generation may be done by means of individual designating keys or sample templates having predetermined designation parameters.
