To provide a method of efficiently affording olefin polymers having a high molecular weight and a high melting point even under industrially advantageous high-temperature conditions. A production method of an olefin polymer to solve the above problem includes polymerizing monomer(s) including at least one &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms at 50&#xb0; C. to 200&#xb0; C. in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst including; (A) a crosslinked metallocene compound represented by General Formula [I] below; and (B) at least one compound selected from (b-1) an organoaluminum oxy-compound, (b-2) a compound that forms an ion pair by reacting with the crosslinked metallocene compound (A), and (b-3) an organoalunimum compound. 

Production method of olefin polymer and olefin polymerization catalyst

[Object] There is provided a method which enables an olefin polymer having high melting point and high molecular weight to be produced even at high temperature proper in an industrial production process. [Solution] A method for producing an olefin polymer is provided, the method including polymerizing an olefin having two or more carbon atoms in the presence of a catalyst for olefin polymerization, wherein the catalyst for olefin polymerization includes (A) a bridged metallocene compound represented by Formula [1] and (B) at least one compound selected from, for example, an organoaluminum oxy-compound and an organoaluminum compound: [where Rto Reach represent, for example, a hydrocarbon group; Rto Reach represent, for example, a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom; Rand Reach represent, for example, a hydrogen atom; and Rrepresents, for example, a hydrocarbon group. Y represents, for example, a carbon atom. M represents, for example, Zr; Y represents, for example, a carbon atom; and Q represents, for example, a halogen atom. j is an integer from 1 to 4].

Method for producing olefin polymer

A process for producing a syndiotactic &#x3b1;-olefin polymer having high racemic diad fraction and high molecular weight with excellent polymerization activity through a method permitting high-temperature polymerization. The production process comprises polymerizing a monomer that comprises at least one C3-10 &#x3b1;-olefin and a small amount of ethylene, in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a transition metal compound (A) represented by the general formula [1], at least one compound (B) selected from an organoaluminum oxy-compound (b-1), a compound (b-2) that reacts with the transition metal compound (A) to form an ion pair and an organoaluminum compound (b-3), which process for producing a syndiotactic &#x3b1;-olefin polymer satisfies the relationship: 0.001&#x2266;P/P&#x2266;0.030, provided that the molar amounts of ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms that are fed into a polymerization reactor under a polymerization temperature of not lower than 25&#xb0; C. are Pand P, respectively.

Process for producing syndiotactic &#x3b1;-olefin polymer

[Problem] To efficiently obtain an &#x3b1;-olefin polymer having a high melting point and a high molecular weight. [Solution to Problem] The process for preparing an olefin polymer of the present invention is a process for preparing an olefin polymer, comprising polymerizing at least one monomer selected from &#x3b1;-olefins of 2 or more carbon atoms, wherein the polymerization is carried out at a temperature of not lower than 40&#xb0; C. in the presence of a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound component (A) which comprises two or more kinds of transition metal compounds (a) represented by the following formula [A1] and an organometallic compound component (B) which comprises an organometallic compound (b), propylene is contained in the monomer, and the olefin polymer is an olefin polymer whose weight-average molecular weight (Mw) and number-average molecular weight (Mn), as determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), satisfy the relationship of 1&#x2266;(Mw/Mn)&#x2266;3, and which has a melting point (Tm), as determined by DSC, of not lower than 150&#xb0; C. and an intrinsic viscosity ([&#x3b7;]) of not less than 1.5 dl/g.

The metallocene compound according to the invention and the olefin polymerization catalyst containing the compound are intended to produce a catalyst capable of preparing an isotactic polymer with a high polymerization activity. The metallocene compound contains a substituted cyclopentadienyl group and a (substituted) fluorenyl group and has a structure wherein these groups are bridged by a hydrocarbon group or the like. The process for preparing a metallocene compound according to the invention is intended to selectively prepare a specific metallocene compound so as not to produce an isomer, and in this process an intermediate product is synthesized by a specific method. The process for preparing a polyolefin according to the invention is intended to prepare a polyolefin having excellent impact resistance and transparency, and this process comprises homopolymerizing an &#x3b1;-olefin of 3 to 8 carbon-atoms or copolymerizing an olefin of 3 to 8 carbon atoms and another &#x3b1;-olefin in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst containing the above-mentioned metallocene compound.

The bridged metallocene compound or the olefin polymerization catalyst which comprises the compound, enables high polymerization activity in polymerizing one or more monomers selected from ethylene and &#x3b1;-olefins. The bridged metallocene compound contains specific substituted cyclopentadienyl and fluorenyl groups which are linked via carbon or silicon atoms. In the method for the preparation of polyolefins, one or more monomers, preferably ethylene as an essential monomer, selected from ethylene and &#x3b1;-olefins are copolymerized in the presence of the olefin polymerization catalyst comprising the bridged metallocene compound, so that an ethylene based polymer with an ethylene content of more than 50 mol % is obtained.
