A solvent recovery method and apparatus recover waste wash liquid generated in automatic washing of a printing machine so as to enable a printing machine washing of high productivity, excellent safety and health effect, and low cost. The solvent recovery apparatus has a gravity separation tank (1) for receiving waste wash liquid used for washing of the printing machine and separating it by a specific gravity difference. A vaporizer (2) receives, heats and vaporizes the separated liquid from the tank (1) in order from a lower layer liquid (H) to an upper layer liquid (L). A condenser (3) receives, cools and condenses, by water (W), the vapor from the vaporizer (2). A distillate gravity separation tank (4) receives liquid from the distillate gravity separation tank (4) receives liquid from the condenser (3) and holds it statically to separate the liquid into organic solvent (S) and water (W).

The known keyless printing press including an ink feeder section consisting of an ink source roller, a transfer roller, a doctor roller, an anti-hysteresis doctor disposed on the circumferential surface of the doctor roller and the like, and also provided with a wetting device for a plate drum, is improved in order to realize a fresh condition of the ink source roller which is free from residual ink before printing ink having a uniform moisture content is applied thereto. The improvements reside in that a refresh doctor is disposed on the ink source roller at a position downstream of the nip between the ink source roller and the transfer roller for scraping residual ink from the circumferential surface of the ink source roller.

Keyless printing press

A keyless printing press includes a delivery nozzle disposed in opposition to an ink source roller and provided with a plurality of delivery ports aligned in parallel along the axial direction of the ink source roller. Printing ink circulating through an ink circulation system is delivered and fed through the respective delivery ports of the delivery nozzle to the ink source roller. The arrangement is improved to obviate the shortcoming that isolated water may repeatedly circulate through the ink circulation system and accumulate, resulting in lowering of printing depth. At least one ink outflow port, for ensuring that printing ink having a high moisture content proportion will flow out of the delivery nozzle, is provided in the delivery nozzle at a position at a level higher than any of the delivery ports.
