The invention provides a polycondensation catalyst for producing polyester by an esterification reaction or a transesterification reaction between a dicarboxylic acid or ester-forming derivative thereof and a glycol, wherein the polycondensation catalyst comprises particles of a solid base having on their surfaces either a coat layer of titanic acid in an amount of from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight in terms of TiOper 100 parts by weight of the solid base, or an inner coat layer of an oxide of at least one element selected from silicon, aluminum and zirconium or a composite oxide of at least two elements selected from silicon, aluminum and zirconium in an amount of from 1 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the solid base and an outer coat layer of titanic acid in an amount of from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight in terms of TiOper 100 parts by weight of the solid base, and wherein the solid base is hydrotalcite.

The invention provides a polycondensation catalyst for producing polyester by an esterification reaction or a transesterification reaction between a dicarboxylic acid or ester-forming derivative thereof and a glycol, wherein the polycondensation catalyst comprises particles of a solid base having on their surfaces either a coat layer of titanic acid in an amount of from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight in terms of TiOper 100 parts by weight of the solid base, or an inner coat layer of an oxide of at least one element selected from silicon, aluminum and zirconium or a composite oxide of at least two elements selected from silicon, aluminum and zirconium in an amount of from 1 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the solid base and an outer coat layer of titanic acid in an amount of from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight in terms of TiOper 100 parts by weight of the solid base.

An object of the present invention is to provide titanium oxide granules that have a novel structure and have a characteristic of highly efficient decomposing capability, and a method of decomposing plastic and organic waste by using the granules. The present invention has been completed based on the finding that a method of decomposing plastic waste by using titanium oxide granules having a transition metal and/or a transition metal oxide, in particular copper, supported thereon enables decomposition of plastic waste at extremely high efficiency in a low-temperature region for a long period of time as compared to methods of decomposing plastic waste by using the related-art titanium oxide granules.

The amount of a bobbin thread wound in a bobbin of a full rotary hook is increased by making a circumferential portion of a bobbin case holder between a thread separating portion and a thread releasing portion thinner than the remainder of the circumference, thereby increasing the inner diameter of the bobbin case holder. A fully rotating hook includes an inner bobbin case, an outer loop taker mounted about the bobbin case, the loop taker having a track groove formed therein, a rotating member for rotating the loop taker such that relative rotation occurs between the loop taker and the bobbin case, and a stopper member for preventing rotation of the bobbin case with the loop taker while the loop taker is rotating. The track groove of the loop taker is formed by at least one wall therein which is coated with a layer of synthetic resin material having a small coefficient of friction to reduce friction between a track projection member on the bobbin case and the track groove of the loop taker.

An oscillating loop taker includes a bobbin case holder having a needle thread guiding projection which with a wedge forms a recess in which fits a driver member. A radial dimension from an axis of rotation of the holder to an inner leading edge portion of the projection is less than a radial dimension from such axis to an inner surface of the holder defining a space within which is housed a projection. The inclination of a needle thread guide face at the recess side of the projection is set to a desired comparatively large value. The circumferential length of the needle thread guide face is made comparatively long to enable a needle thread to be easily transferred onto the outer circumferential face of the bobbin case. Thereby, the bobbin thread is permitted to pass between the inner peripheral face in the vicinity of the base end portion of the projection and the outer peripheral end portion of the bobbin case. This enables the bobbin case in the bobbin case holder to be enlarged, enabling the diameter of a bobbin accommodated in the bobbin case holder also, to be enlarged, and enabling the winding capacity of the bobbin thread wound on the bobbin to be increased.
