A fuel battery stack is provided with: hole portions formed in a coolant supplying manifold; cylindrical collar members provided in the hole portions; and fastening bolts inserted in the cylindrical collar members and screwed in a second end plate. On the inner circumferential surface of each of the hole portions, a plurality of projections that support the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical collar member are provided so as to protrude radially inward.

Fuel battery stack

A fuel cell stack includes power generation cells stacked in a stacking direction. Each of the power generation cells includes a membrane electrode assembly and a separator. The membrane electrode assembly includes an electrolyte membrane, and electrodes between which the electrolyte membrane is sandwiched in the stacking direction. The separator is stacked on the membrane electrode assembly in the stacking direction. The power generation cells are sandwiched between end plates in the stacking direction. A resin fluid manifold member is disposed on one of the end plates opposite to the power generation cells in the stacking direction and through which a fluid is to flow. The resin fluid manifold member has a contact surface which is in contact with the one of the end plates. The resin fluid manifold member includes recessed portions provided in the contact surface and ribs provided between the recessed portions in the contact surface.

An electric motor () is constructed with an inner circumference side rotor () and an outer circumference side rotor () which are coaxially arranged; and planetary gear mechanism which rotates at least one of the inner circumference side rotor () and the outer circumference side rotor () around an rotary shaft O. Long sides of substantially plate-like inner circumference side permanent magnets () of the inner circumference side rotor () and those of substantially plate-like outer circumference side permanent magnets () of the outer circumference side rotor () are arranged so as to face each other by the rotation of at least one of the inner circumference side rotor () and the outer circumference side rotor () in a cross section perpendicular to the rotary shaft O with the planetary gear mechanism.

Dual rotor electric machine having a field-controlling rotor

A motor is provided with: an inner rotor having inner permanent magnets arranged in a peripheral direction and an outer rotor having outer permanent magnets arranged in the peripheral direction, the mutual axes of rotation of the inner rotor and the outer rotor being arranged coaxially, and a rotating device capable of making at least one of the inner rotor and the outer rotor rotate around the axes of rotation so as to change the relative phase between the rotors, wherein the rotating device includes: a first member which is integrally and rotatably provided with respect to the outer rotor; and a second member which is integrally and rotatably provided with respect to the inner rotor and which defines pressure chambers inside the inner rotor with the first member, and wherein a working fluid is supplied to the pressure chambers, thereby changing the relative phase between the rotors.

Motor

An electric-motor-equipped vehicle of the present invention includes an electric motor which receives a power supply from a storage apparatus and drives the vehicle, or assists a driving of the vehicle by an internal combustion engine. The electric motor includes: an inner circumference side rotor and an outer circumference side rotor which are each provided with magnet pieces, and rotation axes of which are coaxially arranged; a stator which is arranged on an outer circumferential side or an inner circumferential side of the inner circumference side rotor and the outer circumference side rotor; and a phase modification device capable of modifying a relative phase between the inner circumference side rotor and the outer circumference side rotor.

Electric-motor-equipped vehicle

A change in torque produced by a motor having two rotors is reduced when the motor operates in a low-velocity and low-torque operational state. The motor has a first rotor and a second rotor, each of which has a permanent magnet, and an output shaft capable of rotating integrally with the first rotor. The second rotor can relatively rotate with respect to the first rotor by a driving force from a phase difference changing driving device, and the phase difference between the rotors (rotor phase difference) can be changed by the relative rotation of the second rotor with respect to the first rotor. When the values of the torque and the rotational velocity of the motor lie within a predetermined region in the proximity of 0, the phase difference changing driving device adjusts the rotor phase difference to a predetermined phase difference for which the strength of a composite field of the permanent magnets is lower than a maximum strength.

Controller for motor

This electric motor includes first permanent magnets secured integrally to an outer periphery side rotor and second permanent magnets secured integrally to an inner periphery side rotor. The first permanent magnets and the second permanent magnets are arranged so as to offset the relative torque produced between the outer periphery side rotor and the inner periphery side rotor based on the magnetic flux of the inner peripheral permanent magnets and the outer peripheral permanent magnets.

Internal combustion engine

A battery temperature regulating apparatus efficiently controls the charging temperature of a battery assembly which serves as a power source to energize a propulsive motor on an electric vehicle to run on a road. A fluid jacket is disposed in heat exchange relationship with the battery assembly and supplied with a coolant to regulate the temperature of the battery assembly with a radiator or an electric heater for allowing the battery assembly to be charged in a temperature range from 20.degree. C. to 35.degree. C., for example, which is optimum for the charging of the battery assembly. The battery temperature regulating apparatus can maintain the optimum temperature range more reliably than a conventional apparatus which regulates the temperature of the battery assembly as it is charged with a forced flow of hot air or cool air, and can reduce the electric energy consumption to 1/3 of that of the conventional apparatus.

Battery temperature regulating apparatus

A battery discharge gas control system, which releases a hydrogen gas generated from the battery assembly when the battery assembly is charged and discharged, is capable of keeping the battery structure highly resistant to water or humidity. The battery discharge gas control system has a battery having a gas release port, a passage connected to the gas release port, a control valve connected to the passage, a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure in the passage, and a control circuit for opening the control valve to release a gas generated by the battery from the passage, depending on the pressure in the passage as detected by the pressure sensor. During a period of time in which no hydrogen gas is generated or a generated hydrogen gas is not plenty enough to be released while the battery is being charged or discharged, the passage is closed for thereby keeping the battery structure highly resistant to water or humidity. The control valve has a solenoid-operated valve openable in response to a control signal outputted by the control circuit, and a relief valve mechanically openable depending on the pressure in the passage. Even in the event of a failure of the solenoid-operated valve, the relief valve is mechanically opened depending on the pressure in the passage, thereby protecting the passage from damage.

Battery discharge gas control system

A current detecting device for detecting current flowing in a first electric wire arranged close to a second electric wire having a portion extending in a predetermined direction. The device comprises: a portion of the first electric wire extending at right angles to the second electric wire; a magnetic core arranged around the above portion of the first electric wire, the magnetic core having an axis thereof extending at right angles to the above portion of the second electric wire; and a magnetic-to-electric transducer associated with the magnetic core for generating an electric signal indicative of the intensity of a magnetic field generated around the above portion of the first electric wire by current flowing in the first electric wire.
