A system and method for detection of a malfunction in an elevator. The system includes an elevator cab, a server, at least one sensor, and a controller. The controller receives a signal captured by the at least sensor and transmit to the server. The server processes the transmitted signal and prognostically detects the malfunction in the elevator cab.

A diagnostic step for a passenger conveyor comprises at least one camera for shooting at least one lateral side of the interior space of the passenger conveyor, at least one directional microphone pointed to said at least one lateral side of the interior space of the passenger conveyor and an analyzer unit which receives image data from the camera and sound data from the directional microphone and transmits the data to an outside network.

A mechanical hoistway access control device for an elevator landing door includes a first and a second base plates mounted on the hoistway side of a landing door panel and arranged in parallel with one another, a slider slidably arranged between the first and second base plates and configured to move in conjunction with a car door and configured to protrude out from a door closing side end of the landing door by a first elastic member to take an extended position when the landing door is opened with no elevator car at the landing, and a latch attached to the landing door and configured to engage with the slider to keep the slider in the extended position once the slider protrudes out from the door closing side end of the landing door.

An emergency operation controller for an elevator is connected to other emergency operation controllers of their respective elevators through network, and each controller constitutes a node in the network. The controller generates and transmits an emergency condition detection message to other controllers in the network which constitute adjacent nodes to the controller when the controller detects an emergency condition, and receives an emergency condition detection message from other controllers which constitute adjacent nodes to the controller in the network when other controllers detect an emergency condition. The emergency condition detection message includes a propagation count. The propagation count is configured to be decremented by one, each time one controller transmits the emergency condition detection message to other controllers which constitute next adjacent nodes. The emergency condition detection message is continuously transmitted until the propagation count reaches to zero.

An elevator rope guide system comprises a plurality of rope guides for restricting the swaying of at least one main rope and a plurality of stop mechanisms each configured to stop a corresponding rope guide. The rope guides are located above an elevator car and/or counterweight and are vertically movable along a hoistway. The stop mechanisms are positioned at different intermediate heights along the hoistway. The elevator rope guides are collected by the elevator car or counterweight as the elevator car or counterweight moves up and are stopped by a corresponding stop mechanism as the elevator car or counterweight moves down.

A mechanical hoistway access control device for an elevator landing door includes a first blocking member mounted on a position on a landing door frame above a landing door, and a second blocking member mounted on a position on a car door frame above a car door. The first blocking member is pivotably attached between an upright position and a first horizontal position extending in the door opening direction about a horizontal shaft. The second blocking member is pivotably attached between an upright position and a second horizontal position about a horizontal shaft, the second horizontal position being where the second blocking member protrudes out to the landing door side to block movement of the first blocking member.

A handrail friction checking device comprises a handrail gripper for gripping the handrail and movable together with the handrail, a spring with one end of the spring being fixed and the other end being connected to the handrail gripper so that the spring can apply a spring force which is opposed to the direction of handrail movement to the handrail gripper when the handrail gripper moves along with the handrail and a sensor which is disposed in a way that it is distanced from the handrail gripper and can be triggered by the handrail gripper when the handrail gripper moves along with the handrail.

A monitoring system for a passenger conveyor is provided. The passenger conveyor includes a motor for driving the passenger conveyor and an inverter for supplying current to the motor. The monitoring system includes a current sensor for detecting the current supplied to the motor; a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the motor; a data collecting device for receiving detected data from the current sensor and the temperature sensor; and a controller connected to the data collecting device. The controller is configured to calculate an idle operation motor torque during an idle operation of the passenger conveyor based on current and temperature detected during the idle operation; and determine that a fault exists in the passenger conveyor when a difference between the idle operation motor torque and a reference motor torque exceeds a predetermined threshold.

Monitoring system for a passenger conveyor

An elevator target floor registration unit, which displays an estimated amount of time until an assigned elevator car arrives, reduces feelings of uneasiness. Various target floor registration units by which a user may register a target floor are installed on respective floors of a building. The target floor registration units are connected to an elevator controller via an interface. The elevator controller: (a) assigns a most suitable elevator car corresponding to a user's target floor registered using the target floor registration unit; (b) computes an expected waiting time for the elevator assigned to arrive at the floor of the aforementioned registration; and (c) sends said pieces of information on the elevator assignment and the expected waiting time to aforementioned target floor registration unit in order to display them.
