A hybrid compressor includes a first compression mechanism, which is driven by a first drive source, and a second compression mechanism, which is driven by a second drive source, and a second radial axis of a second housing of the second compression mechanism is offset relative to a first radial axis of a first housing of the first compression mechanism, or a second diameter of the second housing of the second compression mechanism is less than a first diameter of the first housing of the first compression mechanism, or both. When a significant external force is applied to the front end of a vehicle containing the compressor, most of the external force may be absorbed by the first compression mechanism portion of the compressor, thereby reducing or avoiding damage to the second compression mechanism. In particular, when the second drive source is an incorporated electric motor, damage to the electric motor may be reduced or avoided.

Hybrid compressor

An air conditioning system includes a primary or engine-driven compressor that is driven by a primary driving source or engine, and a secondary or motor-driven compressor that is driven by a secondary driving source or motor. The air conditioning system increases in advance an output of the secondary or motor-driven compressor before the primary or engine-driven compressor is stopped. Further, when a load of the secondary or motor-driven compressor becomes a predetermined value while the secondary or motor-driven compressor is in operation, the primary or engine-driven compressor is activated.

The apparatus has features that the apparatus provides the air conditioner with a plurality of operational modes selected by a user, and when the vehicle is not in motion with selection of a first mode, the first section permits the engine to stop if a first power that the motor can supply is greater than a second power of the compressor required by the air conditioner, and the second section permits the engine to restart if the second power exceeds the first power.

A filter includes a case, filtering material housed within the case, a cover which covers the open end of the case and is non-rotatable relative to the case, and an annular fastener clamping the cover to the case. The case includes a large-diameter portion at an open end of the case, the large-diameter portion including a convexity forming an engagement tab. The cover has a concavity into which the convexity is received to prevent the cover from rotating relative to the case. Moreover, the cover includes a screw thread on the outer periphery thereof.
