A clutch disc assembly holding a diaphragm spring using a pair of wire rings clamped by bent tabs of a clutch cover or stud pins, and having a coned disc spring for controlling an increase in a releasing load due to wear of facings of a clutch. An annular coned disc spring urging an outer peripheral portion of the diaphragm spring to a side opposite to the clutch disc is disposed between a pressure plate and the diaphragm spring. An annular support plate is provided and its inner peripheral portion is held between the bent tabs of the clutch cover and the pair of wire rings. The coned disc spring is held by an outer peripheral portion of the support plate and the outer peripheral portion of the diaphragm spring in an elastically deflected condition.

A pressure plate for pressing the friction facing of a clutch disc to the flywheel is connected to an operating part through a mechanical link mechanism. A part to be detected which moves by the extent corresponding to the shift of the pressure plate in the clutch axial direction is disposed in the link mechanism. A contact-free sensor for detecting the part to be detected is disposed in the stationary part of the clutch, and when the clutch is connected with the abrasing facing worn to a specific limit, the sensor is designed to detect the part to be detected. There is a control part for receiving the detection signal from the sensor, and a display part is provided to tell that the control part has received the detection signal.

The friction device of damper disc of the invention comprises an output member, an input member, springs for coupling the two, and friction mechanisms disposed between the input member and output member. The friction mechanism comprises annular input side and output side friction members, and the input side friction member is located between the output member and the output side friction member. At the edges of the both friction members, pawls extending in the axial direction are provided, and the pawls of the input side friction member are engaged with the notches provided in the input member to coupled the input side friction member and the input member in a manner unable to rotate relatively, and the pawls of the output side friction member are engaged with the notches in the output member couple the output side friction member and output member in a manner unable to rotate relatively, and sliding friction planes are formed between the output member and input side friction member, and the output side friction member and input member, respectively.

Clutch cover assembly

A pull-type clutch including a pressing force transmission lever, an inner peripheral end of which is in contact with a retainer connected to a release bearing, and an approximately annular adjusting ring for adjusting clearances produced by wear of the clutch facing and which is in contact with a radial outside end of the lever and screwed into an inner peripheral surface of the clutch cover. An adjuster is provided on an inner surface side of the adjusting ring and causes the adjusting ring to rotate by means of rotation of the adjuster so that the adjusting ring can move axially toward a pressure side. A rotation drive is provided which is driven by the retainer moved in the clutch axial direction by clutch engaging and releasing operations, when the clutch facings are worn, so as to adjust the adjuster.

A release bearing mechanism of a clutch comprises release bearing including an inner race provided with axial extension, a lever plate fitted to the extension and fixed to a diaphragm spring, the lever plate provided with a ring escape groove, a tapered guide portion and a ring fitting portion, the extension being provided with a ring escape groove and a second ring fitting portion, an elastic connecting ring interposed between the lever plate and the extension, a ring pushing means for pushing the connecting ring from ring fitting portion to the other ring escape groove. The ring escape grooves have depth which permits axially relative movement between the lever plate and the extension when the connecting ring is accommodated therein. The fitting portions are adapted to fit to the connecting ring at radially opposite directions and axially opposite directions.

A clutch disc including a disc-like annular facing members arrange to front on each other and a cushioning plate corrugated in circumferential direction. Stiffening plates which are disc-like annular bodies having inside and outside diameters approximately identical with those of facing members and on which slotted holes extending nearly in radial direction are made at plural places in circumferential direction, are glued to fronting surfaces of the facing members. The cushioning plate is disposed between the fronting stiffening plates to make convex portions on its both surfaces contact with portions located between the slotted holes of the stiffening plates, and is fastened by rivets to the contacting portions.

A damper disk having an output hub; an annular intermediate member disposed around the output hub; an annular spring seat member disposed around the intermediate member, and including spring seats which project radially inwardly; a pair of annular input plates disposed at opposite sides of the intermediate member; a plurality of circumferentially spaced pairs of input springs which circumferentially connect the input plates and the intermediate member to each other, the input springs in each pair being arranged circumferentially in series with the spring seat therebetween; output springs which circumferentially connect the intermediate member and the output hub to each other, the output springs being formed by compressible coil springs; and stop means for restricting relative rotation between the components in the disk.

The present invention discloses a damper disc comprising a spline hub; a radial flange formed at the hub; a case connected to facings; circumferentially spaced plural compressible coil springs connecting the case and the flange together; sealed spring chambers formed around the springs by the case or a cover; sealed narrow spaces connecting the spring chambers together; and spring seats disposed at both ends of the springs; said chambers and spaces being filled with oil, so that the oil applies a resistance force to the moving spring seats. At least one of side surfaces of a portion of the flange radially inside the springs may be provided with radially spaced annular protrusions, and the cases may be provided with annular protrusions engaging with the protrusions on the flange with narrow spaces therebetween.

The invention discloses a damper disc comprising a spline hub; a radial flange formed at the hub; a sealed case covering the flange and having a radially outer portion to which a torque is transmitted; torsion springs disposed in openings in the flange and axially faced hollows in the case for connecting the flange and the case together; and a piston cylinder mechanism arranged in the case and having a piston operable to move in accordance with relative torsion between the case and the flange, the case and a cylinder of the piston cylinder mechanism being filled with operating oil, and the cylinder being provided with a narrow space through which the oil can be discharged.
