A forging tool used to forge a workpiece in a cuboidal forging space, wherein (a): the forging space is formed when the bottom surface of the first die and the bottom surface of the second die are brought into contact with the contact surface of the third die, or (b): the forging space is formed when a first die contact surface provided in the first die and a second die contact surface provided in the second die are brought into contact with each other.

A Cu&#x2014;Be alloy according to the present invention is a Co-containing Cu&#x2014;Be alloy, in which the Co content is 0.005% to 0.12% by mass, and the number of Cu&#x2014;Co-based compound particles having a particle size of 0.1 &#x3bc;m or more that can be confirmed on a TEM image at a magnification of 20,000 is five or less in a field of view of 10 &#x3bc;m&#xd7;10 &#x3bc;m. Furthermore, a method for producing a Cu&#x2014;Be alloy according to the present invention includes a solution annealing treatment step of subjecting a Cu&#x2014;Be alloy raw material containing 0.005% to 0.12% by mass of Co and 1.60% to 1.95% by mass of Be to solution annealing treatment to obtain a solution-annealed material.

Cu&#x2014;Be alloy and method for producing same

A forging method according to the present invention includes the steps of placing a work having a first shape which is a rectangular hexahedron in a work space of a forging die which has a rectangular opening, which is formed by rectangular plane wall portions, and which is provided with the work space to hold the work in a placement step and applying a plastic strain to the work by deforming the placed work into a second shape which is a rectangular hexahedron in a working step, with the placement step and the working step being performed at least two times.

A method for producing a high-strength magnesium alloy material includes (a) a step of preparing a magnesium alloy workpiece having a top face and a side face; and (b) a step of applying a compressive load &#x3c3;p (MPa) from the top face side of the workpiece and performing a uniaxial forging process on the workpiece. Step (b) is performed while suppressing deformation of the workpiece widening outward and under conditions including (i) &#x3c3;p&#x3e;&#x3c3;f (where &#x3c3;f is the compressive breaking stress (MPa) of the workpiece); (ii) a plastic deformation rate is less than or equal to 10%, and (iii) a strain rate is less than or equal to 0.1/sec.
