A RIO device mounted to a train includes an output unit that outputs a signal to a relay mounted to the train, and a controller that controls whether or not to cause the output unit to output the signal. The output unit includes a readback circuit that detects whether or not the signal is outputted from the output unit. The controller makes a signal stop request and a signal output request to the output unit before operation of the train starts, acquires a detection result of the readback circuit while each of the signal stop request and the signal output request is performed, and detects abnormality of the output unit using the detection result.

A terminal device which receives command information from a central device in a train information management system, includes a transmission-reception unit which transmits and receives the command information to and from the central device or other terminal device and periodically receives command information from a plurality of central devices, a control unit which determines whether or not management information, which is information on a train composition set by a central device which is a transmission source, regarding the received command information, is normal command information and determines command information to be adopted based on a priority set to the central device which is the transmission source when receiving the normal command information from the plurality of central devices, and a storage unit which stores information on the priorities set to the plurality of central devices.

An object is to obtain a ground device capable of reducing a communication time of train information from an onboard device to the ground device. A ground device, which is capable of communicating with an onboard device and acquiring unreceived data from the onboard device by difference downloading or batch downloading, includes a difference-communication determiner to determine whether to acquire the unreceived data from the onboard device by difference downloading or to acquire all data to be acquired from the onboard device including the unreceived data by batch downloading. The difference-communication determiner includes a communication-time evaluator to evaluate a total communication time when data in a specified period is acquired by the batch downloading and that by the difference downloading, and a communication switch to output a download instruction based on a result of evaluation by the communication-time evaluator.

The arrangement positions of the display components respectively representing the apparatuses when a number of apparatuses of the same type are monitored and controlled by one and the same control device are determined according to arrangement rule information that is exceptional rules.

In the train data transmission system for a train including a plurality of cars, a front car of the train includes: a front car control device that is a central control device configured to send and receive data to and from a control device of a train information management device installed in a following car; an on-board instrument configured to send state information to the front car control device, and receive a control command from the front car control device; and a display device configured to request data from the front car control device using a transmission data format, and receive the data from the front car control device in accordance with the transmission data format. An address is assigned only to data of the front car in the transmission data format, and the display device allocates data of the following car in sequence.
