A battery management device that manages a battery includes: multiple voltage detection circuits each connected to a corresponding one of a plurality of battery cells; and multiple discharge circuits each connected to a corresponding one of the battery cells. The battery management device causes the battery cell whose voltage difference from a reference voltage is equal to or greater than a predetermined first threshold and less than a second threshold that is greater than the first threshold to be discharged while a system of the vehicle is stopped, and causes the battery cell whose voltage difference is equal to or greater than the second threshold to be discharged at least either while the system is stopped or while the system is in operation.

An electric vehicle includes a fuel cell unit and a power controller unit that are disposed next to each other in a front compartment. Each of the fuel cell unit and the power controller unit includes an upper casing having a lower strength and a lower casing having a strength greater than that of the upper casing. The fuel cell unit and the power controller unit are arranged so that a distance La between the lower casings along an alignment axis is shorter than a distance Lb between the upper casings along the alignment axis.

A battery system includes a plurality of converters wherein each converter converts an electric power between a corresponding block of a plurality of blocks and an auxiliary battery. A first equalization control is a control for, when a vehicle is in a ReadyON state, operating a converter corresponding to a lower-voltage block, of at least one pair of blocks of the plurality of blocks having voltage variations exceeding a threshold value, such that the lower-voltage block is charged with an electric power supplied from the auxiliary battery. A second equalization control is a control for, when the vehicle is in a ReadyOFF state, operating a converter corresponding to a higher-voltage block, of at least one pair of blocks of the plurality of blocks having the voltage variations exceeding another threshold value, such that the auxiliary battery is charged with an electric power supplied from the higher-voltage block.

Battery system, electrically-powered vehicle and control method for electrically-powered vehicle

An assembled battery is constituted of a plurality of battery blocks connected in series, each battery block including a plurality of cells. SBMs are provided corresponding to the battery blocks, respectively. Each of the SBMs is configured to monitor at least one of a voltage of each cell included in a corresponding battery block, and a voltage of the corresponding battery block. A total voltage monitoring circuit is configured to monitor the total voltage of the assembled battery, separately from the SBMs.

An abnormality detection device includes a measuring unitand a determining unit. The measuring unitmeasures, among a power supply, a capacitor, a load circuit, a switch connecting the power supply to the load circuit, and ground of a vehicle body, which are mounted on a vehicle, a first voltage of the capacitor charged by serially connecting the power supply, the capacitor, and the body ground in a state where the switch is controlled to be turned off. Abnormality detection device and method for insulation and welding

An electrical storage system includes an electrical storage device, a load, a line, a relay, a capacitor, a voltage sensor, a first insulation resistor, a second insulation resistor, a first current path, a second current path, and a controller. The capacitor has one end connected to the electrical storage device and the other end connected to a ground. The voltage sensor is configured to detect a voltage value of the capacitor. The first insulation resistor is provided between the electrical storage device and the ground. The second insulation resistor is disposed between the load and the ground. The first current path includes the first insulation resistor. The second current path includes the line and the second insulation resistor. The controller is configured to control ON and OFF of the relay.

Electrical storage system

A battery monitoring device monitoring a battery unit connecting battery blocks, the battery unit being configured by each of the battery blocks connecting battery cells, includes: a voltage detection circuit connected to each of the plurality of battery cells via a voltage detection line; a first equalization circuit as a circuit provided with at least a first switching element, the first equalization circuit being disposed for each of the battery cells and connected to the corresponding battery cell; a resistor element disposed on the voltage detection line; a second equalization circuit as a circuit provided with at least a second switching element, the second equalization circuit being disposed for each of the battery blocks and connected to the corresponding battery block; and a controller configured to control driving of the switching elements. The second equalization circuit is connected further on the battery block side than the resistor element.

Battery monitoring device

An electricity storage system includes an electricity storage block including an electricity storage element for performing charging and discharging; a relay switched between an ON state in which the electric storage block is connected to a load and an OFF state in which a connection between the electricity storage block and the load is cut off; a controller for controlling the ON state and the OFF state of the relay; and a current cutoff circuit so as to cut off energization of the electricity storage block. The current cutoff circuit has an alarm circuit to indicate that the electricity storage block is in an overcharged state by comparing a voltage value of the electricity storage block and a threshold; a latch circuit retains the alarm signal; and a transistor receives an output signal of the latch circuit and switches the relay from the ON state to the OFF state.

Electricity storage system

A power-supply monitoring device includes a capacitor that is connected to an insulated electric power source to execute charging/discharging. A power-supply monitoring device including this capacitor forms a charging path for detecting deterioration in an insulation resistance of an electric power source, and detects a voltage of the capacitor when being charged through this charging path. A vehicle controller specifies an abnormal part based on whether or not the voltage of the capacitor detected by the power-supply monitoring device is within a predetermined range.

Deterioration specifying device and deterioration specifying method

An electrical storage system includes an electrical storage device, a load, a positive electrode line, a negative electrode line, a first relay, a second relay, a third relay, a drive circuit and a controller. The drive circuit includes a coil, a first power line, a second power line, and a sensor. The first power line includes a first switch element and a second switch element connected in series with each other. The second power line includes a second resistive element and a third switch element connected in series with each other. The drive circuit is configured to cause both the second and third relays and the first relay to operate at different timings. The controller is configured to control operation of the drive circuit. The controller is configured to output a control signal for setting each switch element to the non-energized state, and determine whether any one of the switch elements has a failure in the energized state on the basis of the output signal of the sensor.

An electrical storage system includes an electrical storage device (); a relay (SMR-B, SMR-G, SMR-P) switching between on/off states; a current interruption circuit () interrupting energization of the electrical storage device by causing the relay to switch from the on state to the off state; and a controller () executing drive control over the relay. The current interruption circuit includes an alarm circuit () outputting an alarm signal indicating overcharging/overdischarging of any one electrical storage block by comparing a voltage value of each electrical storage block with a threshold; a latch circuit () retaining the alarm signal; and a transistor () causing the relay to switch from the on state to the off state upon reception of an output signal of the latch circuit. The controller determines an energization state of the electrical storage device by executing control for turning on the relay while control for causing the alarm circuit to output the alarm signal is being executed.

A system for determining fixation of a relay has an electricity storage device, an electrical apparatus, a relay, a first insulation resistor, a second insulation resistor, a detection circuit, and a controller. When the relay is controlled to OFF, the controller determines, based on the voltage value detected by the detection circuit (the detected voltage value), whether or not the relay is fixed. When the detected voltage value is a voltage value that is obtained by dividing the reference voltage value by a combined resistance value and the reference resistance value, the controller determines that the relay is fixed. When the detected voltage value is a voltage value that is obtained by dividing the reference voltage value by the first resistance value and the reference resistance value, the controller determines that the relay is not fixed.

System for determining fixation of relay

An electric power storage system for a vehicle includes: an electric power storage device; a converter configured to perform voltage conversion between the device and the motor; a DC/DC converter configured to step down an output voltage to an auxiliary machine or an auxiliary machine battery; a charger configured to charge the device with external electric power; and first and second relays disposed on first and second connection lines connecting the device to the converter, respectively. One end of the DC/DC converter is connected to the first connection line between the first relay and the converter and the other end is connected to the second connection line between the device and the second relay. The charger is disposed on a current path capable of charging the device with the external electric power when the first relay is in an ON state and the second relay is in an OFF state.

Electric power storage system

A DC/DC converter is able to step down a voltage value of a high-voltage battery, and is able to step up a voltage value of a low-voltage battery. The low-voltage battery is a battery that provides a lower voltage value than the high-voltage battery. The DC/DC converter includes a transformer, a third diode and a reactor. The transformer includes a first coil and a second coil. The first coil is connected to the low-voltage battery. The second coil is connected to the high-voltage battery. An anode of the third diode is connected to one end of the first coil. One end of the reactor is connected to a cathode of the third diode, and the other end of the reactor is connected to a positive electrode terminal of the low-voltage battery.

DC/DC converter and electrical storage system

An electrical storage system includes a relay switching between an on state where an electrical storage device () is connected to a load and an off state where connection of the electrical storage device with the load is interrupted; a controller controlling an on-off state of the relay; and a current interruption circuit () interrupting energization of the electrical storage device. The current interruption circuit includes an alarm circuit () outputting an alarm signal indicating that any one electrical storage block is in an overcharged state by comparing a voltage value of each electrical storage block with a threshold; a latch circuit () retaining the alarm signal; a transistor () causing the relay to switch from the on state to the off state upon reception of an output signal of the latch circuit; and a power supply circuit () generating electric power for operating the latch circuit using electric power of the electrical storage device.
